Wouldn’t surprise me…

I had heard that the show was not returning to for the 2006 season

If that is the case, is there any reason for them to keep the screen? I hope it gets removed.

The only thing about the clock. It would be nice if it actually worked and told the time.

Just build a new screen 10 times the size of the existing one. It can be constructed out in the main parking lot and everyone can watch from their cars, then leave immediately afterwards!

I love this idea!!!!!

IMHO, as I've said before, I agree--the screen is ugly and ruins the view (and atmosphere) of that portion of the park. Not to mention the fact that it causes certain rides to close early, and *never* re-open most nights in the summer. To me, that's not how CP has (or should) operate.

Rides like Iron Dragon and the CP&LE are way cool at night (Boneville, of course--but you can't see Boneville if the train isn't running.)

Sorry--this thing has been a pet peeve of mine since it went in. I know, us "old timers" should quit griping. *** Edited 2/22/2006 1:55:04 AM UTC by Western Cruiser***

I'm sorry but that big screen just ruined the look of the park....It didn't belong! It was U G L Y......!!!! There has to be another place to put the thing. Maybe by Disaster Transport - Call it Disaster Screen!!! The ugly thing was only used for about 20 mins a night - Ruined the view 24/7....... IMHO

Please remain seated until the ride comes to a complete AND final stop.....

What kinda worries me, more than anything, is the fact that word has it that their contract with Stone Mountain Productions was up, and that they won't be returning. Instead we'll be seeing a show with fewer, if any, lasers, more fireworks, and more of the beagle...

From the new brochure:

"BRAND NEW!! A Sensational Celebration Of Summer

You won't want to miss our new nighttime entertainment featuring Snoopy, your favorite music and fireworks! Every evening at 10 p.m. from early June to mid-August."

No mention whatsoever of lasers as in past years. It was always touted as a "laser-light show extravanganza" or some such nonsense. I don't think your guess is too far off based on the new brochure.

Brochure is here (Acrobat required): http://groups.cedarpoint.com/_upload/rack%20brochure.pdf

And it seems we have the end of another era; atleast as it once was...

Well... y'know... I've got to admit, the nightly 'spectacular' has been anything but in the past few years. This might be a great thing.

Note, the operative word in that sentence is 'might'.

From what I remember, last year's show used much less laser animation than in previous years. Most of it was generated with computer graphics. Probably more of the same kind of stuff this year.

Last year's show was fairly boring. Maybe this year's show will be a pleasant surprise but I'm not holding my breath.

cp&le rr guy, That picture is excellent! It's what CP was all about at one time, from a much simpler time. ;)

I miss the "Why Can't we be friends" mosh-pit .. *sigh*

Probably willing to bet ALOT of the younger users here don't remember that.

Personally I've felt they used the lasers as a crutch. I mean, laser shows are cool and everything but they're so commonplace these days and CP didn't really do anything unique with it. I think fireworks synchronized to music would be really cooly.

I miss that old view of the Giant Wheel.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

I think CP should do a Peanuts Parade during the day, then get rid of that ugly screen! ;)

Yeh they could put the screen where ocean motion is.... BUT what would CP do knock down more trees? Nahh I was never really bothered by the screen anyways. The light show was always so neat to me. And I liked the music.

I think a retractable screen would solve most of out problems.
