Season Pass Multi-Scan

Since we have joined the boaters life and had our passes switched from the regular platinum passes to the marina passes, every time we leave the park and the associate sees our passes on our lanyard, they just wave us through and say a stamp is not necessary. We asked why once and they just said Marina pass holders don't need stamped for re-entry.

No doubt it's nice not to have to worry about it.

As long as it comes up valid, you should be allowed in.

I think they did that to reduce fraud.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Especially with folks like me who use my digital pass on my mobile or smartwatch.

The only person inconveniencing the people in line is the person that decides some passes scan and some don't.

There's no one making that decision. Computers have glitches. I really can't imagine there's a person at Cedar Point whose job duties include running down a list of passholders each day and checking off which passes won't work that day.

I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.

And everybody in line behind you.

I'm willing to step aside and let others through while waiting for a supervisor. But I really wouldn't be faced with this problem since I get my hand stamped each time upon leaving.

I agree. I don't like Fast Lane either. So, I make sure to inconvenience the ride op, everybody at the gate behind me, and a supervisor every time I try to enter the Fast Lane queue without a wristband. The only person inconveniencing the people in line is the person who decided to implement Fast Lane. Absolutely 100% Cedar Points fault. And it may take a supervisor being inconvenienced enough to get it fixed.

There is a ride host stationed where the lines merge to prevent that. I don't understand what the point of this is.

The one at Wicked Twister won't even let you through Fast Lane even though there is virtually no one in line for the ride and no one walking up through the main queues (may or may not have been me trying to re-ride real quick)

Pete understood. My post was a response to the idea that you should purposely ignore the official policy and inconvenience everybody around you in order to try to get the policy changed. It's pretty poor guest behavior if you ask me.

And thank you for stepping aside while the supervisor was called. When I had to wait for a supervisor the other night, I did the same thing. One guy behind me had a stamp and the other scanned his card (no idea if it was the first time or not). Luckily, it was 11:00 at night and not 1:00 in the afternoon. They weren't exactly beating down the gates at that time of night.

This entire rescan thing seems stupid. It should be consistent either way. For what it's worth my daughter and I never get a stamp, and we never have issues scanning our passes again. She has a CP pass and I have a platinum. If a picture comes up of you when they scan the card, where is the potential for fraud? I thought this issue was fixed a few seasons back, but it doesn't seem to be the case for everyone.

It was supposed to be fixed a few seasons back, they even encouraged it as "official policy" and then returned to the high school dance style hand stamp.

I agree that there needs to be consistency with the multi-scan. There is a chance of fraud when a family has a set of twins. They will only get a pass for the first child, and not the second child. Mom and the first child goes into the park. Mom conveniently forgets something in the car. Mom comes out of the park. Mom then goes back into the park with dad and the second child. The second child uses the same pass as the first child. Since they are twins, the picture looks exactly like him and the admissions hosts doesn't think twice about it. Or this situation could happen for people who look a lot alike.

The likelihood of fraud is much higher with a hand stamp. It can be easily duplicated and transferred. The stamps are applied with such disregard that the word void in reverse in each stamp is usually smeared and illegible even if it were transferred. Also, every employee I've pointed out the reverse 'void' had no clue it was there.
