services at LHP cabins

With my confrimation letter I received for our stay the week of 7/22 at the cabins it states that " full housekeeping service will not be provided during your stay". Does housekeeping still come in and at least empty the wastebaskets, vacum, provide toilet paper, etc. I know for $300 a night I'm paying mostly for the location ( I don't mind that), but do expect the basic services. Thanks in advance for any help.

You can request new towels, TP, etc, but I do not believe there are any services beyond that. How much trash do you really expect to generate while in the park? ;)

And the only things I would imagine could smell are things like food, which maybe they have garbage cans accessible outside?

Garbage cans? At Cedar Point?

I've never seen any.

I just stayed at Light House Point this past weekend and stayed in the Cottages that face Lake Erie. These were the best facilities I've stayed at yet at Cedar Point. They are fairly new and very clean. When I checked in I think I requested towel service. When we got back to the cottage on day two, all our towels were replaced with new towels and garbage was all taken out. You do have to make your beds thou. But they sure beat hands down Sand Castle Suites and Hotel Breakers. You'll have a great time!

^ - none of the cottages face Lake Erie.

They face Sandusky Bay. ;)

When we stayed there last year, we didn't request anything. But, the wastebaskets were all emptied and towels were replaced for us. They also tidied up the kitchen area which surprised me. We had absolutely no complaints with our stay there. We loved it.

LHP ROCKS and is definitly the best place to stay at the Point imo. I was there two weeks ago and have been staying there since I discovered them 3 or 4 years ago.

They will replace the towels AND clean the the grill every day. Occassionally they will replace the towels and pick up the trash and kitchen area, but I think that depends on your stay. They will not vacuum or make the beds until you check out.

I get confused on this all the time, but believe the cottages face the lake while the cabins are clustered in the interior.

If you're facing the lake, the deck is a very comfortable place to chill. Have a kick ass time.

We stayed in a cabin last year for one night of a three night stay. On the first morning my wife found we had several mice in the cabin that ate several of our son's belongings. She also discovered mice droppings throughout out personal belongings. We had to be moved to SCS in order to comfort my wife. If they were to give a cabin or cottage to us I still do not think my wife will ever stay there agin. As for a being clean, not very clean at all. I felt that any room, no matter the age, in Hotel Breakers is by far a higher standard than a park model travel trailer left in the parking lot. Just my 2 cents.

Ok,now im putting in my 2 cents,if people wernt such pigs, and litterly destroy the cabins and the cottages,we would be better off, screens busted, blines busted, dont get me wrong, its a great place to stay but people need to be more neat and have more respect for CP property. Will be staying in a cottage all next week, cant wait!!

The one problem with the cottages on the bay, is that if you get a good wind and rain blowing off the bay, the front door will leak. Closing weekend was just such a weekend, and Ben woke up to a wet floor because the wind would open the gap in the door and allow quite a bit of rain to pour in.

Im a 22 year old and to me I thought the cabins were of a very high standard. I know, I am young and all, and in fact I have spent 2 years living in a fraternity house. (I know, disgusting living space.) So I guess you could say I can live in filth and call it clean, but we found ours to be clean as can be and very cozy. 6 of us shared the place and not one of us complained.

Honestly, when I go back next year, or whenever I will be sure to book another cabin.

Your absolutely right Ryan - they rock for sure. But given the cost of $300/night - you pay for the location - you'd get more bang for your buck at other resorts for the same cost. But given the location, cleanliness of the cabins, as well as the deck, water and grill - it's still a GREAT value imo.

Poor me and my wet floor and wet feet ;(

Oh well, I toughened up. It did suck though. I still think it might have just been that particular cabin.

Thanks for all the helpful info. We're looking forward to a great week at CP. Can't wait for that first view of the park when you're on the causeway. It's an amazing sight.

The only problem I had with my stay at LHP was the clogged up shower. We got the maintenance guy to come out and plunge it. I hate to think of what the group before us did in the shower!
