So how was the ride?

For me, the very first time I rode it, ir was pretty darn thrilling. Especially at night with all of the lights on. But the second time a rode it, it was a lot less thrilling. Don't get me wrong, it was still a very exciting ride. The thrill just wasn't there that second right like it was on the first ride.

Let's take Skyhawk for example. No matter how many times you ride the ride, it will always be pretty thrilling. You will always have that feeling of airtime and wondering whether or not you are going to go splat onto the ground if you fall out.

Windseeker doesn't have that feeling of airtime or any other really exciting feature that would make it a very thrilling ride.

It has become one of my favorite rides in the park now though. Its just more of a nice calm ride now. I enjoy looking around at the park while I'm up there.

I think that that should have a point on the ride when you are at the very top where it spins for more slowly before coming back down. I would like to see the park at 301ft at a slower speed for a few seconds so I can actually focus on some things haha :)

Since someone mentioned it...

Has Space Spiral operated this season? I just made my third visit to Cedar Point this season on Sunday, and it has not been running during any of my three visits. I was kind of hoping to get a ride on it before it turned into an oven...

It was operating earlier today. I noticed it doesn't run often, but yes, they have been running it this season.

^ same reason we ride skyride, or paddle wheel, it doesn't have to be thrilling to be fun, it's just a great addition to the park :)

we are so used to big thrill rides today, that it will take awhile to be weened into riding less heart-pounding rides.....

^ I agree. Lets take iron dragon for example. Its not a boring roller coaster at all. But I'm so used to the elements of rides like millenium force ttd and maverick that i don't bother going on iron dragon that often. Not because its not a good ride, but because I'm so used to all these bigger rides.

I remember when i was younger when the iron dragon was my "big ride". I've grown much braver since then :)

If you ride a ride like Iron Dragon after having not ridden a coaster in a few months (instead of starting big), it feels much more thrilling again.

I think I might be a little spoiled considering CP is pretty much my home park. I realize I take for granted living close to a world class amusement park when I talk to people in lines that have traveled from all over the world to visit even if its a once in a lifetime experience. I think rides like Iron Dragon and Cedar Creek Mine Ride would probably get more riders at a park like Michigans Adventure or a similar park with a couple of decent coasters. Since I've been riding some of the biggest and fastest, I sometimes forget the rides that made me love coasters to begin with.

Back on point, sorry, but since it wasn't open when I was there earlier this season, I'm going for the day Friday. I can't wait to ride this. Heights are my biggest fear so I'm sure it'll be a thrill for me. Anxious to ride it at night with that fantastic lighting package.

Rode yesterday :)

very fun ride, was not lame, i really enjoyed it at night.

I rode in the morning, then at night. I think everyone should try windseeker, even if they only do coasters and huge thrills.

I thought the ride time was perfect, and it didnt feel too slow spinning around, as some people I know have said. one of my friends rode it with me and he gets very dizzy on any spinny ride, and even he liked it :)

I took some friends this weekend who wanted to ride it, so I found myself in line again. This time I got a little dizzy. Not dizzy enough to keep me off of it.

Funny thing happened on Saturday night when we were loading. One of the ops was having an issue with what he said was "2" and kept telling the op in the booth to hit "lock then 2."

The op in the booth kept putting up his hands as if to say "I did!" and the op checking the seats kept saying "Lock then 2!" Eventually getting more and more frustrated with the guy in the booth because the seat he was at would not do whatever it was he wanted. It started to get worse with the seat checker screaming "LOCK THEN 2" eventually waiting riders started screaming "LOCK. THEN 2!" and it was getting pretty funny.

Finally another op came over to the seat. Looked at the seat checker and said "You wanna know why it's not working? because you wanna unlock THREE! NOT TWO!" He told the op in the booth and he accomplished what he was supposed to.

Good times.

^^That's hilarious.

I finally got a ride on it earlier tonight. It's definitely not thrilling, but it's still a nice ride. I personally thought it was more like a relaxing scenic type ride, like Space Spiral without the glass.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I was able to ride it last Saturday from today! The ride would have been better If I didn't have to sit next to this one really annoying kid. Even in line this kid was driving me nuts! Talking about stuff that I don't really care about since I don't really know him anyway! "Seriously, I don't care that you have new shoes and why do you keep disturbing the ride attendants?" That was my thought while waiting in line with this guy. Other than that, it was a nice ride and would love to ride it again when I go in July. :)

Being in the past and the present at the same time takes a lot of talent. :)

I had a good time. I rode it three times. Twice in the middle of the day, once at night. I was awesome. I especcially liked the night ride.

Yesterday I finally rode it and thought it was great, it's not intense or nothing just a calm gentle ride with wonderful views. Rode it 3 times and the night ride at closing was the best with the lights on and I have never paid attention to how dark the lake is at night

I WILL ALWAYS KICK THE SKY.

I rode it this weekend and someones hat blew off it and the wind took it over to the catering area. Funny to watch from the ride at the top. :)

It was okay. Nothing special. Its calming. If you are tired or stressed I would ride it.

Went on it during the day a few weeks ago. It gives you a very nice breeze if it is hot out.

I was able to ride the KI Windseeker this past weekend, and while in no way did I think it to be a thrill ride my friend in the seat next to me really thought otherwise.

I do really like the ride though, it provides a nice calm view of the park and certainly provided some nice wind to cool us down when we really needed it. The KI operation was assigning seats and churning through people. I'm not sure how the CP operation is, but if it is not the same as the KI operation then I would suggest a trip down there.

Overall, I think CF made a good decision with the ride. :)

I have been on both kings islands, and cedarpoints windsleepers in the last week, and both of them (I know they are the same ride) were snooze fests.

Not very exciting at all. :(

You do however get a great view of the park and surrounding area.

I also went to sfstl a few weeks ago and went on a star flyer. What a differance. The ride seemed faster, and it was more thrilling. I think having a chian holding your seat had a lot to do with it IMO.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
