Some Interesting Facts

I took a trip to Battery Park after work today and I took the camcorder with me. I was fortunate enough to get there when the trains were running. But here is some interesting facts that you might be interested in.

Run time from the time it leaves the load station to the time it enters the unload station - 1 min 45 seconds. I would like to know how CP came up with 2 min 45 sec. At least the queue should move fast. I can also confirm the time to climb the lift hill at 25-30 seconds. It really flies up the hill.

The ride, even from Battery Park, looked awesome! I cant wait until May 26th!! But even though it is a bit difficult to tell from that distance, it looks like you might catch some good air time going over the Magnum hill because you seem to carry a good bit of speed over the crest. This also appears to be true of the return hill from the island. So you should have a good amount of air time on this like you do on the third hill on Magnum, but I am reserving judgement until I acutally ride it. These are solely based on my own observation from Battery Park. But another area of MF that looked awesome was coming out of the second hill. It appears that you get launched out of this turn and blast towards the first tunnel! I have a feeling that you are going to be pulling alot of G's in the first overbank and the turn in the first tunnel. I also noticed that the tunnels still look nice and shiny. I didn't appear that they had any rocks on them but again it was from quite a distance away.

But IMHO, I think the best place to ride it is in the back. It appears that because of the length of the train, the people in the front are going to be leaning forward for a while until the train completly releases down the hill. I think that sitting in the back will give you the longest free fall going over the lift hill. *** This post was edited by MaxAirTime on 5/6/2000. ***
Where is Battery Park?

See my Po!nt?
"Dont post if there is nothing to post about"
Its right across Sandusky bay from CP in downtown. You can see alot of MF from there by looking across the bay. *** This post was edited by MaxAirTime on 5/6/2000. ***
