Some Magnum weirdness today...

This morning, one of my Facebook friends posted a photo of a Magnum train sitting on the storage track with no car body and no bumper on Car #6. In other words, a rolling flatbed with six lap bars.

Anybody here know what's going on? Personally, I'm hoping new decorative side panels have arrived and the train is slowly undergoing a much-needed stickerectomy...

That would be great....the Magnum trains are just plain.

I guess that explains why it looked like they were running two trains when they had the webcam aimed over that way.

No idea what is going on THIS time, but this was usually what happened when they were doing some fiberglass work. Maybe a large crack or something developed? The magnum trains have like nothing to them when the fiberglass body is gone!

The more I look at it, those stickers are pretty cheezy. :) But it's one less thing to fall off and probably cheaper I guess. And 98% of people won't know the difference.

I don't think I have previously brought it up here, but I have been complaining about those stickers since opening day, and I am surprised that nobody else in PointBuzz seems to have noticed.

It's more of that Cedar Point schizophrenia that has been going on forever. All that nice detail on the Gemini midway and at the same time, the Magnum trains lose their details.

(Also on the Gemini midway: I really want to put those two horrible screechy horn speakers on the High Striker game out of my misery...)

I know what you are saying about the schizophrenia but overhauling the miday has to have a much bigger impact than some stickers on the front car on Magnum. I would guess most people don't even know they are there (or are they now gone?) Heck I have ridden it hundreds of times and it took me a few moments to remember their colors.

I like the description of "schizophrenia". This is exactly what I've been talking about. I guess that description is a bit softer than my direct terms like "lack of customer service". Honestly, I could care less about the stickers. They don't make the ride on Magnum any different (other than taking a train out of service for something they could have done in the off season). It is laziness and a lack of attention to detail on the part of management. It does have an affect on peoples perception of the park, even if it is just on a subconscious level. Management can do better, they just need to try harder.

As much as I usually wish things in life would be less like Facebook, sometimes I wish Pointbuzz had Facebook's option to hide certain people's posts....

There is that option. If your mouse has a scroll wheel, simply continue scrolling until the post is out of view.

I would love to have that ignore button on here, but then I wouldn't get my daily comic relief from reading Guru's posts.

I agree it's pretty darn loud and annoying, especially when standing in line for the Flying Eagles.

Magnum's going to a more "open" train design. :)
