Stores

Oops maybe I should look next time.

I collect coffee mugs. Not impossible, but not easy to find. The one thing that dissapointed me the most was trying to find a lanyard for my glasses. Back in the day you could find branded glasses strapsat every shop and in the que line in TTD. Now the CP branded ones are gone and it is easier to find a coffe mug than a glasses strap, which is non branded and generic. We went to 4 shops to find them last year. Yikes!

Sorry for the mess. Signature under construction.

Oh, I have a stack of those. I buy one every visit after I get into the park and realize the one(s) I brought with me are still in the car. I've found them at Pagoda, Gatekeeper, and Camp Snoopy stores, and I'm sure I bought another nice red one somewhere toward the end of the season.

I hope they aren't going away. (If I ran a park with a semi-strict rule about tight glasses straps I'd make sure I had plenty available for purcha$e.) And like I say, I need one every time.

Last year I bought a tight glasses strap in the Valravn gift shop--the first place I looked.

I'm pretty sure they stock them in every store, you just have to ask the cashiers, as they are usually around the register check out area.

I bought a few packages of these, and keep them in glove boxes, luggage, etc., so that I'm likely to always have one handy.

So you're saying you keep a bit of rope in your glovebox? ;)

Completely agree that the shops could use an overhaul. I think Snoopy Boutique is pretty nice, but in terms of Pagoda, etc, I feel like I'm in a K-Mart.

Also, I think the merchandise in general could use a refresh. I'm curious how many adults are buying the shirts with an obnoxious snapshot of a coaster on the front. I think the "retro" style shirts look pretty good as well, but a lot of them seem really outlandish to me.

You would think every shop would have an eye glass strap especially since every rollercoaster you ride, there's a chance you could lose them. Especially Top Thrill Dragster.

Park Plaza is pretty nice too. I never really noticed anything wrong with the shops, but I don't really buy anything either. I do find the Frontier Trail shops like the candle shop and glass shop interesting and Sweet Spot is really nice. I guess I don't really pay much attention to retail so I'm kind of appathetic about the subject. Except, I want them to bring back martini glasses!

I agree with most of the comments that the shops are dated for the most part. I cant say I buy a lot of souvenirs but I do have several jackets and I do have some nice polo shirts I wear. The polo's are very nice quality shirts. They have stepped up their quality in the higher end attire for sure.

I love the polos they came out with last year. Last year, they had every rollercoaster ride on a polo. If they did that more often, that would be a huge boost for the stores. I also wish they had more different color shirts with the rides instead of just sticking with black all the time.

I'd love to get the polos, but $50.00+ for a polo, even a Nike one is ridiculous to me, when I can go to Kohls and get the same polo material for like 20-30. If they didn't have such an outlandish markup, I'd probably spend more there. They've got my money in pass, food, add ons, and now lodging, you're missing one more area.

Where did you see every coaster on a polo at? The only one's I saw were Gatekeeper and Valravn and those were located at the shops at the rides. They had Cedar Point polo's at Pagoda in the upper level area.

^ I guess what I was trying to say was T-Shirts. CPfansite on facebook reported it last year in May I think. Shortly after that, I found them in the CP shop by ocean motion.

I'm all for updating the inside as long as the outside stays intact. My inner nostalgia fanatic would throw a fit if the Pagoda went away.

Also, geez, Shawn. Are you a necromancer? You're bringing a ton of dead threads back to life. XD
