Tentative Date for State Approval!

I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking to a rep. from the Ohio Amusements and parks Council. (I think that's who they said they were) They said they will be making the trip up to the Po!nt in about two weeks to do their own inspection of the ride and will judge if the ride is safe or not.

They just talked about MF, and since this is a MF board I posted MF news. I'm sure there's SoB news on some other board.

"Ohio Amusements and parks Council?" There is no such thing.

Would anyone like to tell Mr. Ddogg which agency really inspects the rides?

Sorry Jeff, but you are wrong. There is such a thing as the "Ohio Amusements and parks Council." I should know because I am the founder, president, chief executive officer and head inspector.
I seem to remember the Dept of Agriculture inspects the rides, I thought I read it somewhere but i may have been hallucinating.
Jeff, I'm sorry I don't know every single damn thing about government. I'm a f'n 15 year old. I'm sorry I can't make you happy with every post I put on this site. You always jump at the first chance you can on correcting somebody and making sure you point it out to every single person in the free world. If you noticed I said I THOUGHT that is what they said on the radio. This was on at 6 o'clock this morning. You really need to lighten up what you say about people.

I only jump on people who make things up. I absolutely can't stand it when people make things up, and then get their panties in a bunch because I call them on it. It has nothing to do with age, race, sex, religion or general disposition. I'm an equal opportunity BS debunker. Just because the president makes stuff up doesn't mean I have to allow it to occur here.

Did you notice that the Magnum sinking rumor has never been more "out there?" Why do you suppose that is? Because people make stuff up and talk about it as if they are the ultimate authority, misinformation just continually propagates to the farthest corners of the earth.

Just don't make things up. That gets old.

Rob is right, ride inspection is conducted by the state Department of Agriculture.

"Wheel Problem"...I hope its not the same problem Goliath is having?
Amusement ride inspections in Ohio are conducted by inspectors employed by the Division of Amusement Ride Safety, which is a division of the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Applicable laws can be found in the Ohio Revised Code, Sec. 1711.50-1711.99.

You can't jump on him for making things up....he is just stating what he heard! You can say it a little nicer than what you do! He wasn't making up that there is an Ohio Amusements and parks Council if the president was here saying it was true. You could check YOUR sources before posting so you aren't making things up.
Wheel problems Dan? What wheel problems? Do tell!

Honestly, I shouldn't say anything people might think I'm making it up. :) Who here can say Goliath.

Goliath is having problems with wheels overheating. Reports from CA say that they have fans under the station track cooling them during loading. I don't know if it's an issue of wheel size or simply a set of bad wheels. It's a safe assumption that MF could have the same issues.

Any idea (with Goliath) which part of the wheels are having the problems? Is it the bearings or the outter covering?

What a strange problem... Auto wheels turn continuously (though at a lower RPM rate) and yet there are all these problems. Very curious.

I hopped on a site last night and RideMan was right. I didn't get the name right, I'm sorry. But yes, The Dept. Of Ag. does send out it's own council to test the rides.

I dont think that MF will have a problem with the wheels overheating. From looking at the pics of the cars, it appears that the MF trains use a larger diameter wheel than found on most coasters. This would allow the wheel to spin slower RPM than a smaller wheel at the same speed.

Jeff, I am assuming that you have seen the cars in person. Can you confirm this?
