Testing?

With the park only being open a few hours on preview night I kind of wish it was more of a word of mouth type event. Pass holders receive an email invite but that's all the advertising they do. They do not sell or process passes that night. Essentially a special event for people who have already renewed, or purchased and processed. I just feel like advertising that event creates a cluster f*** of an evening for only a few hours of ride availability. BUT from a business point of view I understand why they do it the way they do. You just won't see me at any of them in the near future.

There is a difference between the real testing and checklists that maintenance performs and the cycling the crews do to put hours on the ride. When they are cycling they are not really testing anything.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

We'll be at preview night, staying at Hotel Breakers for the weekend. If it becomes another disaster like last year, we'll go enjoy the beach/ lake views(weather permitting) and hope for the best the following day. Again, nothing is guaranteed that weekend.

Keep passing the fun along!

According to CP rundown, Valravn is on the tracks. Won't be too much longer till they start testing it. Then after that, they can start testing Rougarou! Wish we had smiley faces on here.

Or according to Tony. On the Twitter and the 'Gram.

Looking at the webcams today, It looks like the concrete is fixed up. Today also marks 50 days till Cedar Point opens. I bet will see testing on Valravn next week.

I wouldn't put money on it.......

Take this with a grain of salt, but I don't think we will see Valravn run until the week after Easter.

What about the pull through? Do guys think we'll see that on the webcam?

I don't know about Valravyn...
But I hope they turn the webcams for the pull through on rougaroo!!

Yes! Thank you XS Nightclub. Rougarou should be the first to start testing because his trains have been waiting since early February and he's getting antsy!

Rougarou doesn't need a pull through. It'll just start testing when the schedule allows it. I'm guessing once employees start settling in and start training. It'll probably be April.......since that's usually when things start moving.

As for Valravn, there's still more that, I'm sure, has to be done before testing can start. My guess is the next 2 weeks should see mostly everything wrap up as far as wiring and track/support modification goes (support base grouting, rail smoothing, etc).

I'm not trying to open an old can o' worms, but I must have been under a rock. What happened at Preview Night last year that made it so atrocious?

Promoter of fog.

Most advertised rides weren't running, huge crowds, Magnum had half the rows chained off, long lines for food, and dirty bathrooms. And if you were there to process your pass, forget even going into the park. The line to process looked like it was at least an hour. On top of that, it took about 20 minutes just to get into the front gate, there were only about 2 lanes open.

You mean Valravn and Rougarou?

Should've known I'd have to use a winky face on here when hoping they turn the webcams on to an old ride for a 'pull through'.

I just said it to get Shawn excited :) and get his hopes up now that STR is gone :(

^ Nice try buddy! Plus I know they won't do the pull through on Rougarou. How do you post smiley faces on here anyway? I would post the winking face too!

Unless you came to CP at around 3PM for Hotel Breakers, have a few cocktails at the Surf Lounge and then walk right into the park through the resorts gate.

I never understand people that use the front gate.
