Tony/Tyler Teasing Us Again...

So I see Tony and Tyler are teasing us again...this posted a couple of hours ago:

You won’t want to miss it. We have some seriously exciting news to tell you – and it’s coming soon!

Now, the obvious conclusion is that this is to talk about the DD sale, but anbody have any other potential ideas?

Did I mention that when they added the blog, to give them a month of two, and then they were going to pull a Holiday World on us?

I can't wait. This might be "Seriously" exciting. I hope they tell us soon!!

Thrills Around the Corner!

Sounds to me like were definately gettin a new ride...lets hope its a rollercoaster.

Teasing some, maybe, but I really do not pay much attention to them. They have some great inside stories, such as the DT blog. I realy liked this one. They also gave some good info on how MF needs reset everyday. Things I would never have known. This is were I limit my attention on the blog. I could care less to meet them in line for a ride. I could care even less to see them in a parade.

Dick Kinzel on the other hand, I would like to meet, but that is not going to happen.

I hope they have Monty announce if a new ride is happening, not these two. Was Monty's input on new rides replaced by this blog ????. He atleast didn't market to us as complete idiots that want chear him on in a parade.

Well it's not a big ride announcement...just the ticket discounts for the rest of the season.

I dunno about calling this "seriously exciting".

With four adults, and ten kids to buy tickets for, I think I almost lost a load when I found this. I'm supposed to go get the tickets in just a couple days. Sometimes the ball does roll my way.

Considering past issues over senior pricing, free age limit dropping from 3 to 2, not to mention the current state of the regional economy, I can think of a lot of people who would find this news to be seriously exciting. Those people are probably not in the "young coaster enthusiast" crowd, but not all news is for them.

Man are they really gonna tease us when they announce the new ride......

August 12th, 2005- Eminem and Lil Jon concert at Comerica Park.....I was right at the stage! 50 Cent sprayed water on me, Eminem was an inch away from touching me, and when the concert was over I walked outside and met Lil Jon's Eastside Boyz!

This was a great move on their part, directed toward the family and not the single person/passholder. People can't spend money in their park if they can't get them in the gate. Although all it is aimed at is getting people in the park.

There is no way they would announce a new ride now. Whatever they get/do for next year will be late this year or early next for announcement. (I could be wrong) If they announced a new coaster for next year now, then some people would cancel their trip this year because they decided to wait until next year when the coaster will be in. But I do admit with a big discount and new ride announced that would help bring more people in this year. Perhaps I'm wrong.

I'm guessing if they are going to announce something new, it will happen sometime in September. I would guess the first week of September because thats when they have their schedule kinda tweeked a little where they are open for the weekend and closed for 4 or 3 days. Kids are back in School around this time as well, so if you announce something new now, people will still come because they'll be excited and encouraged to come. You have also Halloweekends coming up, which by the way I"ll be there for. I get the crap scared out of me during that.

Or maybe they'll wait until the middle of January like they did Dragster.

Why do you say that? I've seen him walking around the midways and he seems very accessible to me.

I only get to CP for a couple of days a year. The probability of walking down the midway the same time he is probably very low. Also I could not pick him out of a croud. I have only seen a couple of pictures. I am more familur with his porfolio as an executive of a public company. I would probably not recognize him if he was in line next to me.

I am going to CP for 3 days (wed, Thurs and Fri) and statying at lighthouse Point. Does anyone have agood pic, maybe I can recognize him if he is there :) .

He walks around in a tie, and a name tag that says Kinzel on it.

What, no one complaining about giving away the gate?

More seriously, this looks like another one of those "holy cow, we better do somethign to start hitting our numbers!" moves. I can't recall discounts like this at CP in the past four or five years, though Knott's has been lowballing kids' tickets for some time.

Ben:

I do not want to be on your bad side. I agree with most of everything you say in all of your posts.

I am just not fond of Public Relations people in any company. I liked Monty's entries on the web page. He was the PM and his rep was on the line and he knows the inter-working of the rides. To me PR guys give updates with no real commitment to what they are commenting on. It may just be my experiences though.

I look forward to seeing your posts in the future.

Thanks

Bill

Yeah, and that's fine.. But what he says will be super gagged by the company since its a corporately owned park.

I very much so hope we'll continue to see the diaries of construction. I think that was a great feature. But it's still going to ultimately be up to the PR department to first tell us about it, excite us about it, and market it. Monty just builds it.

The PR guys seem to really be pretty cool - although I don't think they're as creative as Paula Werne at Holiday world, or at least, don't have the freedom to do what she did in the Holiblog.

I can understand where you're coming from, but unfortunately it's a different park than Holiday world, and stuff has to be checked before being posted, etc.

It's all them darn shareholders faults. ;)
