MF and Maverick use all three styles of old Intamin track - box, triangular, and flat, which I doubt most people notice. Plus, even if Intamin is doing this job the track probably wouldn't match, since on newer coasters, like Pantheon, they use track with a single large spine which looks quite different than their older circa-2000's track.

Brandon

Looks like they are constructing some scaffolding. Using the elevator to assist.

I just walked by that. Definitely more painting.

It's going to be bizarre seeing that tower such a drastically different color after all these years.

Who said the tower is changing color? What evidence do you have to prove that the tower will be changed to a drastically different color? And, what do you mean by "all these" years. Time is relative, you have to be more specific. Basically, put up or shut up if I can quote a wise commenter in this thread ;)

Maverick doesn't use box track, only triangular and flat. Regardless, the GP would never notice (or care about) the difference in track styles.

Intamin's newer-gen track is closer in resemblance to their old triangular track but handles greater forces which bridges the gap that necessitated the box and triangular track previously and seems easier to manufacture.

We need a drone report!

Yikes calm down. It’s not a wild idea to think that the tower supports are going to be painted the same grey as the supports that are being painted right now. I for one would be thrilled to have a more cohesive paint scheme for the reimagined ride. I always thought the red-white-tan-yellow scheme was a jumbled mishmash.

^You should definitely get your sarcasm meter checked. Also, they are painting the support columns with track attached as we speak. And are setting up to paint the tower supports literally right now. I'm watching it happen.

Never thought about this. Do y’all think they’ll leave the Christmas tree lights on the top hat even if they go unused?

I'm guessing you mean the lights on the structure itself? It all depends on the theme of the new experience. If we're going to Alaska they no longer make sense. ;)

Promoter of fog.

Yeah Top Hat lights! I was just thinking would they even bother taking them down even if they go unused? They are absolutely massive and it may be easier to leave them and just not use them due to their sheer size

They will sell them for $420 a piece! (And shipping will be $120)

If I could pick one of those lights up for $420 I'd grab that in an instant. And turn right around and sell it for a tidy profit.

Those lights are absolutely huge, one bulb probably costs more than $420. The whole unit at that price is a steal and there are enthusiast collectors out there with deep pockets who would be happy to purchase one after the initial sale for a cost.

Still haven't been able to uncross these circuits...

You are correct. For some reason I thought the station and lift track were square, but on closer inspection turns out that it's triangular.

Brandon

The lights are big but you might be able to disassemble them enough to take them down in that man elevator if they were going the route of removing them.

If they go space theme. It would be cool to retrofit the lights to led boards. And have a 5..4..3..2..1 count down before the launch displayed on them

Speaking of space, that reminds me of the total solar eclipse passing right over Cedar Point in April next year.

Hoping for clear skies on April 8th of next year.
