Town Hall Museum

Right now, there isn't a lot of free space there. It was pretty obvious to me, though, that there is an awful lot of space *wasted* there. First of all, the Frontier Lift building is significantly larger than it needs to be to accommodate the restrooms, and is probably not the most efficient space for use for storage of any kind.

I agree with you Rideman, that restroom looks like a house instead of a restroom. I think though the reason its still that tall is because It could've been an old boathouse before it was a restroom. I can see that being demolished and a smaller restroom being relocated somewhere else. Second of all, I think if you take out maybe a couple queue spaces for Snake River Falls, you have even more room to do something. I can see that coming as well. Now My question is did anyone notice any markings on the Cadilac cars across from the Town Hall Museum? If someone goes this weekend ride those just for fun but see if their is markings around.

The reason the rest room building is that big is that it had to be that size to accommodate the Frontier Lift, and they never bothered to take the building down.

I could see new restrooms going in between the Town Hall Museum and Snake River Falls...the space there is about the size of the restroom building on the main midway near the Matterhorn. Although if they were to put restrooms there, I would hope they would also consider adding restrooms to the Town Hall itself, as a lot of people go in there looking for a donniker and can't find one. :)

(Incidentally, I think the award for "Most donnikers on the PLANET!" goes not to Cedar Point, but to Worlds of Fun. Stand anywhere in that park and you can turn around and see a restroom. Kind of like trash cans at Cedar Point.)

But Dave, would a restroom in that space block vehicle access to the Snake River work-shed? How would the boats get to the Maintenance facilities for refurb?

I've had to fill in at town hall in previous seasons working at cp....yes, they do a DOR also. You sit on the stool w/ a hand counter and click as people walk in.

Ah, yes, I forgot that maintenance people can't go anywhere without a truck. :) That's true on our campus, too.

I'm not sure about the vehicle access thing. I'm not sure what kind of access there is from the back of the ride. I know the ride backs up to the boneyard, and that's under the high side, the only trouble is, the railroad track is in the way. But apart from that...the shed is between the station and the Town Hall building, right? Does that have filtration and pumping equipment, or just mechanical maintenance? Could that apparatus be easily relocated to the inside of the ride perimeter?

Of course, doing that would be out of character for Cedar Point. They would be more likely to just put a drawbridge over the flume instead... :)

I’m still so sad they scrapped the new project for Town Hall. They can’t just leave this building vacant…. It was also such a great spot to beat the heat.

Here’s to hoping for a future for TH!
