Train Length

This is going to sound very stupid but I was using a tape measure the other day and realized something. Dragster's trains are 45 feet long. Take a tape measure outside and pull it out to the 45 foot mark. Look at how long it looks. The trains look quite a bit shorter than 45 feet. But on the other side of things in this picture the train is about the length of one section of the tower from catwalk to catwalk is about 55 feet. So the trains must be 45 feet. I find this very weird. Another thing to look at is the station length. Two 45 foot trains with about 5 feet inbetween. That station doesn't seem that long either.

I warn this topic was stupid but it was something on my mind!! *** Edited 6/18/2004 8:09:36 PM UTC by Gomez***

First off, the catwalks do not have a 55ft difference because 55ft x7catwalks + the 55ft from the the 7th catwalk to the point of the tower =440ft and that's not right. If my estimates are correct, there is a 51.5ft difference betwen each catwalk. (51.5 x 7+ the 51.5ft from the the 7th catwalk to the point of the tower+the extra 8ft from the point of the tower to the crest of the track =420ft.) As of the trains, I dont know. All I know is that there is a 51.5ft difference between catwalks. Maybe the trains are 45ft long because if you think of it 45 - 51.5 = 6.5ft and maybe thats not all that visable to the naked eye.
