Troika

I think Valleyfair had a Chaos too.

It did - I went on it. Its a shame they had to demolish it, I loved Chaos. Maybe someday, a manufacturer will make a similar ride. Maybe.

Why was ValleyFair's taken out?

I wish Cedar point would get more carnival style flat rides, like Chaos, troika, top spin, spinny rides. They should go for a top spin, IMO.

They allow families to ride together, and teens and people in their 20s enjoy them. The park either gets large areas just for little tots, like camp and planet snoopy, or large thrill rides with insane height limits. The kids' rides are rides not everyone can ride together, as they only fit little kindergarteners and tots on. And the thrill rides have so many limits anyway.

When is the last time the park got a small flat ride? (like chaos) This does not include skyhawk or Maxair.

I agree and emailed the park about this. A good spot, IMO, would be in the little part of the park up front between Pink's hot dog's and Ocean Motion (part of where Demon Drop used to be). You could tear down Lotsapalooza gift stand and fit 2-3 flat rides in there. Another spot would be across from the Wicked Twister entrance tying together Planet Snoopy and Kiddie Kingdom (where Schwabinchen and Chaos used to be). Put in a surfrider coaster in there or 2 flat rides. I would love to see a Rotor come back to CP! I sure miss that!! I think today's kids would love it.

Rotor was my favorite flat when I was a kid! The Geauga lake one, to be exact. Brings back good memories ; )

Seems like CP has replaced many old rides with basketball games. The park has like 3 game areas now. Do people need to play basketball so much? Or is it just a Cleveland thing where everyone wants to idol Lebron James and shoot hoops all day? One game stand is ok, people can walk, it's good exercise.

3 point is a good way to get extra revenue in. People don't pay to ride a flat ride. I actually kind of like the 3-point challenges, it's fun to watch people try (and often failing) to win fabulous prizes. But the main profit for the park does not come from admission tickets: it comes from the food, souvenirs and games. 3 of them is a little too much though.

I would't mind a new flat ride though, just not one like Chaos-- was always too scared to ride that one (mind you I have ridden almost everything in the park).

I would love to get some more classic flat rides. I was very happy when they kept Ocean Motion and I think it looks great at the front of the park.

Replacing something that generates revenue with something that costs money is not a smart business decision.

I've not been to the park since 2010, but at that time, the 3 Point Challenge games were quite popular.

Brandon

I've always thought they need more flats. There is plenty of room without getting rid of any other attraction. I'd love to see an old fashioned Whip ride for instance.

The large area in front of Blue Streak is complety empty.

The area between the games and Kiddie Kingdom across from Johnny Rockets. There are just some planters there now.

There is room in front of Wicked Twister, just remove the flag poles.

There is space on front ot Windseeeker too. That entire area along the lake has possibilites.

The area between the tracks and MF's entrance could be reconfigured for a flat also.

I'm sure there are other places too.

^ And still are! Especially the one where Chaos once stood. 3 Point Challenge brings A LOT of money to the park and it's fun to play and watch. I always see a decent crowd hovering around that area.

I always thought Cedar Point had a good amount of room in that little plot of land across from the Red Garter Saloon for a flat ride (preferably a Top Spin). What I would really love to see is the removal of the old Pirate Ride building (move Park Services somewhere else), and see something go in that area, or just open it up so Blue Streak's entrance is actually visible. But I don't want to turn this into a wish list :)

Can't do that. Raptor's control computers are in there. :P Don't want to remove Raptor, do you?

Based on that logic, CP should tear down all the rides and replace them with gifts shops, games and food stands.

That's not true. Everything is below the station. I was a ride host on Raptor last year.

That couldn't be more incorrect. Hopefully that smiley is an indication of your sarcasm

I would love to see a flat ride like this back at Cedar Point, it used to be located where they just tore down the Wildcat rollercoaster.

It was great at night! I would ride it when I was a teenager and remember a little crows nest/hut in the inside middle of the ride where little Eskimo figures used to pop up and down. Next time you guys are at the park, check out that little section of empty grass I'm talking about to the left of the Ocean Motion entrance. They need some flat rides there!!!

PS This would fit in that area also or the 3 point chaos basketball game spot across from Wicked Twister.

I'm sure I'll be corrected, but I don't think anybody makes the Bayern Kurve rides anymore, and haven't for a while now. Kennywood completely rebuilt the one that they have presently. I also don't that there are many of these existing in the World anymore. CP's Kurve was one of my favorite rides when I was younger, and I would love it if CP some how found another one and resurrected it. But, I don't think that's going to happen.

Favorite Wood: 1. Balder (Liseberg), 2. Boulder Dash (Lake Compounce), 3. Voyage (Holiday World), 4. Phoenix (Knoebels) 5. The Beast (Kings Island)

FavoriteSteel:1.Expedition GeForce (Holiday Park) 2. Rita (Alton Towers) 3.Magnum XL-200 (CP) 4. Nemisis (Alton Towers) 5. X (SFMM)

It would be awesome if there was a flat ride company that would bring back all of the older rides but in a more modern/reliable version. But, one can only dream...
