Week of the Fourth at CP crowds?

How are the crowds the week of the fourth? I can go either that week or the week after, the first week would be drive up on the fourth (thats of july...) park wed and thurs, drive home fri, or drive up sunday the 9th, park on mon and tues, and go home wed. Which do you reccomend for minimum crowds?

Thanks a million,

Either way, you're pretty much in a world of hurt. Still, predicting crowds is a little like predicting earthquakes... you can play the odds, but there is no guarantee.

Yeah, I was about to say that too. Doesn't matter tho. You're staying for two days so you'll have plenty of time to do everything important regardless. I wish I stayed for more than 8 hours when I go. :)
I would do the other option and be in the park on monday and tuesday. Those tend to be slower then wed and thur. However being that it's July it will be crowded regardless.
I went to the Point every evening from July 3rd through the 10th last year, and all day on the fourth. It is generally true that the middle of the week has lower attendance, but the fourth wasn’t nearly as crowded as I though it might be. The fireworks are definitely worth seeing, too, especially from a coaster lift hill.
when somewhatchewy and I went last year, we were there on the 5th of July I have to say it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be. We had 8 rides in the first hour and a half. That is not to say that it will be the same this year though.

I know we didnt give anyone the 4th off and had everyone come in as a precausion. We've done that the last 2 years.

Lucky for them they all got off early because the park wasnt busy at all.
Me and my wife always go to the Point in early to mid July...always on a Monday and stay for 2 to 4 days. I have to say I don't think the crowds are ever too bad then. At least not since 1995 (the year we began visiting regularly). The longest waits are never more than 45 minutes to an hour for the best rides at peak times. Doesn't seem bad to me after hearing horror stories of 2 hour waits on weekends. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Well, the choice has been made, i'm actually going to head over on sunday june 25th, stay monday and tuesday, and hit SFO on the way home... Thanks for all the input.
