What is going on?

Look at Skyhawk.

Didn't you hear? They're taking it down because the ride didn't live up to expectations.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with routine maintenance to get it going for this weekend. They're taking it down for sure.

Really, there has been a crane on it occasionally for the past two weeks and it has been testing. It's no big deal... they're just getting it ready for you to ride.

First skyscraper not being open for opening weekend, now, there is a problem with skyHAWK?? What is with the "sky" rides this week?

Skyhawk is fine. They're just doing the usual off season maintanence.

I hope MAXAIR will be OK....

They've already posted in the blog that Maxair is scheduled to open on opening day. Not that it really matters though, because there is a far better ride nearly adjacent to Maxair that's always a walk-on (what up, Demon Drop?!) =P

^ - agreed. Still like maXair, but its #2 for flats. Behind Demon Drop, and thanks to some operational changes, its ahead of Chaos.

You know, cranes and cherry pickers have been known to be all over the rides during the season even. Tall things need tall stuff to maintain.

I honestly wonder how the park is actually going to come together for opening day at this point. A lot of people I've talked to are saying that this is the least ready they have seen the park during training week. Planet Snoopy looks nice, though. And the barn actually fits with the rest of the midway, oddly enough.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

If it's anything like Disney hourly employees will be put on OT, the suits and just about everyone else will don blue jeans, and everyone will pitch in to make sure the park is ready!

I have no doubt the Point will be ready for opening day!

Per T&T...

It is just one of the webcam's moving to it's new "PERCH"!

Whooa, now a second webcam is off line. Must be StereoWebCam!

I wonder what's "so exciting" it is going to be pointed at?

Where did you see T&T say that?

Tony told me personally. We're BFF's.

You and Tony are BFF's? OMG, that is so not fair! I guess even my Tony Clark airbrushed T-Shirt and OnPoint! Henna Tattoo couldn't win his affection. Perhaps asking him to autograph my "Wild Ride" Cedar Point "butt slogan" shorts crossed the line?

/sarcasm

In an honest response...I guess I was just curious where SteveH got that info from... I hadn't seen it in a blog recently. Or perhaps I completely missed the point... that happens quite frequently.

from last weeks blog:

And for those keeping score on the webcams, here's an update. Thecamera we took off-line is being perched in a location that's requiringa little more assistance than anticipated. We'll definitely havesomething next week.

CP hourly employees getting paid overtime? I hope you mean the union people because if not I don't know what you're smoking but CP doesn't pay its hourly employees overtime. It's definitely NOT Disney in that regard.

He didn't say anything about PAYING them for OT. Just that they would be working it.

Well, in that case, he's absolutely right.
