What Should I Avoid?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask this. My friends and I are planning a trip to Cedar Point at the end of this month. We're going on a weekday to hopefully avoid an insanely large crowd. We've been on most of the big coasters, so we know which we like and don't like, but I was wondering what rides you guys would suggest I not go for.

The main two I'm thinking I'll not bother going on are Mean Streak and Mantis. I've never heard much good about Mean Streak, and Mantis hurts my legs/junk.

I heard that Corkscrew gives you a headache. Iron Dragon will be a waste of your time. Definately ride Magnum, Millenium Force, Raptor, TTD, and Gemini. Those are my favorites. :)

Yeah, I was definitely planning to try to get Magnum, Raptor, Millennium Force, Maverick, and Top Thrill Dragster in. Never been too sure about Gemini. I doubt we'll do rides like CCMR, Wildcat, Iron Dragon, etc. If we try to do one of the drop rides, I think we'd probably do Demon Drop of Power Tower. I just think it's more fun.

Three I was curious about are Skyhawk, maX air, and Wicked Twister. They looks like they could be fun, but I want to know what other people think, maX air especially. It looks like it could be fun, but it also looks like it's a great way to get sick.

Yes you should ride Skyhawk, maXair, and Wicked Twister. They are great rides. Wicked Twister packs a great punch and I recomend sitting in the very back seat. This makes the ride 10x better. maXair is a great ride with a pretty fast line. The ride has a long cycle and is a lot of fun, but the ride can cause some to feel sick (but is worth trying). SkyHawk is great ride and is often overlooked. The ride has great airtime and usualy has a short line.

Also you should try Skyscraper located in Challenge Park. It is an awsome ride.

Enjoy your trip.

^ I agree with going on Wicked Twister. Both back and front are the best seats on the ride. Be sure to keep your head back when you're about to get launched though. Definitely check out SkyHawk as well. You may think its a kiddy ride, but its not. It has good thrill!

Personally Im not a big fan of maXair. I rode it once and will only ride it once. I got really sick during and after the ride. But go for it and test it out if you want! It depends if you get sick from rides that swing and spin at the same time.

Most of Arrows coasters(Corckscrew, Magnum, Gemini, & Iron Dragon) move very fast with such high capacity they have. Theese coasters are very good for very crowded days. Blue Streak is a pretty fun ride. My favorite hours to go on this ride are at park opening, lunch time, 3:00, and dinner time. Obviously, don't waste your time with Disaster Transport. I dont mind Mean Streak so if you want to ride it, try lunch time. Raptor i have always got on it during early entry. Top thrill deagster try arpund park opening or as soon as the park is about to close down. I will only go on Millenium Force if the wait is <45min because i think it is a waste of time. Maverick- go on right before park closing(it usally is about 60min wait).Skyhawk is no line earlyin morning. I suggest you use the soak city/resort entrance for anything you want to do in the morning in the back! :)

If you catch Gemini while it is racing both sides, it's definitely a lot of fun. Plus there's never much of a wait, so it's not like you're losing time standing in a line.

Alright, yeah. I can get that it'd be fun if they're running both sides. Guess I'll at least keep an eye out.

And I'm thinking I should avoid maX air. I'd rather just avoid the possibility of getting sick.

If you are going to CP there are a few things that are ride once to say you've done it, and others that are fun for a couple dozen rides.

I would ride Wicked Twister / Skyhawk just once or twice. They have a lot wait, but for a reason. The ride cycle is very short so it makes the ride seem pretty meh.

CP doesn't have the best wooden coasters. I would skip them all except Gemini, and ride that once or twice.

Max-Air....more like Maximize your time / fun. This ride has a very long ride cycle, a usually short line as well.

Power Tower, if you like drop towers, this ride is great. I love a drop tower myself, so I could ride Maxair and Power Tower all day. But one thing you should try and do while your on Power Tower is get a seat facing Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster. You can see from those seats the line for MF / TTD / parts of Raptor, and you can get an idea of which direction you want to head after you get off Power Tower.

Skip the water park if you are warm, just go walk over to Breakers pool and take a quick dip and drop your wet gear off at your car in Soak Cities lot.

Gemini is not a wooden coaster. Only the supports are wooden; the tracks are tubular steel. With the exception of the helix leading into the brake run, it is one of the smoothest coasters in the park.

I would advise against riding the Mean Streak, except it's probably the coaster with the shortest lines. There is a reason for that.It will bring you to your knees..because it is rougher than any coaster in the park...BY FAR!

How bout ride all the rides? Don't avoid any but prioritize what rides you would like to go on. The more rides you go on, the better!!
