Where to eat breakfast

Hey guys and gals. Im new to this site (visited it for years but finally signed up) and this is my first post so please bear with me here lol.

I visited CP for the first time ever last year and I loved it so much that I came back again that same year and now it is going to be a yearly thing for me forsure. Last year when I was there I was with a bunch of friends and we stayed at Lighthouse Point and we wanted to go out to eat breakfast, but everywhere we went didnt open til like 11am or so. I couldnt find a decent place to eat breakfast anywhere. Im heading down for a trip next Tuesday for 2 days so does anyone have any good tips on where to eat a good breakfast??

Breakwater Cafe, TGI Fridays and the coffee shop at Breakers all have a breakfast buffet, someone correct me if I am wrong, but last I knew those places had breakfast early before the park opens.

If you're at LHP again, bring your own. Bring a portable propane stove as well.

The other option is to head to Donut Time after the park opens.

I believe at least Breakwater Cafe and The Coffee Shop open around 6:30 for breakfast.

I know I went to The Coffee Shop every morning during opening weekend to get breakfast, and it was never busy at all. The food was mediocre, but bearable. I've never been to Breakwater, so I can't say much about it.

When we go to the park, we always eat at McDonalds on the way there. It's sort of like a park tradition for us. LOL!!

But, last year when we went for multiple days and stayed at Lighthouse Point, we just brought food with us. We had cereal, fruit, OJ, coffee and donuts. It worked out really nice.

That McDonald's is many people's breakfast tradition. It's packed before park opening.

When I last worked at CP, they had a 24 hour drive through. Terrible service late at night. I remember waiting like 12 minutes for a double cheeseburger and fries...

TGI Fridays doesn't do breakfast anymore.

And Josh that McDonalds would always annoy me to no end and make me wait for food for a long period of time after working a long shift where all I wanted to do was go back and sleep. :)

If you don't mind venturing off-point, I suggest Diana's on Rt. 250. It's really close to the park, they've got a great breakfast selection, the food is good, and it's not very expensive.

^Yea, I was bummed to find out about Fridays stopping their buffet. It was the best breakfast at the park. And we didn't care for Breakwater Cafe's buffet at all. I think we'll just bring stuff for the frig in the the room at Breakers from now on for breakfast.

We were at HB for Coaster Mania and the following two days. I was disappointed to see that Fridays stopped serving breakfast. IMHO The Coffee Shop was extremely disappointing. Day one we got stuck in the sardine tables across from the a la carte counter with terrible service. Ironically the food was the best that day. Day two was better seating and better service (I actually got a coffee refill) but the buffet line was long and half of the food trays were always empty. Day three was the best service (lots of smiles and refills) but the worst for the food.

My advice - bring Clif bars and bananas with you. And bring your own coffee, too.

Other than that, I love CP and HB. But the loss of Fridays breakfast is a tragedy. Coffee Shop has no competition for on-point HB patrons grabbing a bite before ERT, and they know it.

I'm also bummed about the Friday's buffet being gone. I used to love getting a window seat and gazing over the lake while stuffing my face and thinking about another great day!! The Coffee Shop buffet is pretty good, but just basic stuff. We ate there once on opening weekend. But our other 7 breakfasts this year at the Point consisted of a combination of granola bars, donuts, coffee, or a Kellogg's variety pack with plastic spoons and bowls...

To address the original post, I would recommend the Breakers Coffee Shop for breakfast. It is a basic buffet at a less than outrageous price. And it's open fairly early, though I'm not sure how early...

What is the Coffee Shop like for food? A decent menu or just coffe and muffins and stuff like that??

They've got scrambled eggs, some kinda scrambled eggs mixture with veggies, bacon, sausage, french toast sticks w/syrup, bagels, muffins, cereal, fruit, some kinda potatos, but I don't remember what kind. It's a good breakfast buffet, really. It's just that those who have been to the Friday's buffet know that it had a better variety of stuff. Give it a shot...

According to the CP website, TGIFriday's at Breakers has the breakfast buffet, including character breakfasts. Maybe it was not in operation early in the season, but it should be now. See here

Sorry Pete, I just called that Fridays to confirm & they said no, it's gone. I told them to tell CP to update the website :(

Whenever I go we stop in at the IHOP by the Michigan-Ohio border (not sure which road; I'm not the driver). I recommend only eating half of what they give you (IHOP doesn't slouch on the portions), otherwise you'll feel sick for a while. And that carries over for the first hour or so you're in the park, which isn't that much of a problem if you're like me and head for MF first. =)

That McDonald's is terrible service, period. The prices are bad, too.

Indy's back and just in time.

We'll be visiting in 2 weeks and were looking for somewhere to get breakfast. We prefer a buffet and wanted to see if anyone knows the prices of breakwater café or mango mikes. Or recommend anywhere else that has a good cheap breakfast.
