Windseeker construction cam up!

dj, you made me LAUGH, trying to READ your POST. :)

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

The worlds largest garbage bag has been removed from the site.

And it looks like the concrete has cured enough to withstand the weight of a good sized wheel loader.

I wonder if the dirt over the foundation indicates that pavers will be used for the load/unload area. Would that be a first for the park?

The only rides I could think of that could possibly use pavers are some of the Planet Snoopy rides. But judging from most of the pictures and memory I think all the rides have cement ride pad.

Its possible it could mean that, but doesn't prepping for the pavers seem like something that would be done a whole lot later in the construction process?

Nick

Or are they going to pour some sort of overlay of cement? I wish I had watched more of those Bob the Builder videos...

I wondered that too, but what would be the purpose of having a layer of dirt between the base and the overlay?

And thanks for the Bob the Builder reference....now that theme song is gonna be stuck in my head!

I wasn't suggesting they were going to install pavers immediately.

ADDED:
And yes, it's just as (or perhaps more) likely that they could install a concrete pad over the dirt. I was just curious because, as far as I know, this ride is one of the first (and few) where pavers could realistically be used.

In that case, Intamin should hire Bob.

Brandon

Bob would've built that flume ride right the first time...

I think Breakers seems more like a job for Mike Holmes:

Anyone else ever watch him? He's ruthless, and awesome.

If Mike Holmes fixed Breakers, he would rip it all down, and build new.He has the best home improvement show on tv.

Holmes on Homes and Holmes Inspection are a couple of shows that are "must see" for me. Very interesting and you also learn alot about construction methods. Mike Holmes fixing Bon Aire - "Unacceptable! Take it all down!"

I just love it when he goes in for something like a cold floor, and the next thing you know, the whole kitchen is gutted.
