Microburst hits Cedar Point Causeway with estimated wind speeds of 90MPH, damaging 35 utility poles. Several vehicles were stuck for hours as crews removed the downed lines. Cedar Point closed early the evening of June 5 and remained closed all day June 6 as a result of power issues and temporarily closure of the Causeway.

A water-main break on the Cedar Point Causeway causes Cedar Point and its resort hotels to close a few hours early. The park reopened on July 31, 2016, while on-property resorts and Soak City remained closed. The resorts and Soak City returned to normal operation on August 1, 2016.
