But more importantly for some residents, is the reopening of the popular TGI Friday's.
TGI Friday's will open Dec. 15 after $1.5 million in renovations, which includes the cost of renovating the Friday's in Hotel Breakers as well.
Gone will be the '40s, '50s and '60s memorabilia, and in its place will be '70s, '80s and '90s decor, including Harleys, disco balls and snowboard decorations. Friday's has been closed since Oct. 30.
"TGI Friday's is coming along," said spokesman Bryan Edwards. "Everything is on schedule. Training is going on right now.
"It's a perfect time to reopen, right before Christmas, which is a busier time at the park," Edwards said Thursday.
In honor of the holidays, Castaway Bay is unveiling "The Parrots Who Stole Christmas."
The parrot puppet show is for resort guests and anyone who wants to stop in at the lobby, Edwards said.
The play is the story of two parrots who scheme to kidnap Mrs. Claus and sabotage her sleigh on her way from the Caribbean.
With the help of children watching the show, Mrs. Claus is saved and so is Christmas.
"It's something different; something more to add" to the experience, Edwards said.
The play will be offered 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Fridays; and 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturdays through Dec. 23.
Three performances are planned for Christmas Eve, starting every hour at 6 p.m.
"Families travel because kids are out of school," Edwards said of Christmas being a busier time of year at the resort. "It's something to do at the resort. A lot is themed for families with children."
For the holidays, Castaway Bay is offering the Paradise Package; select rooms for $120 per night, or $199 for two nights. Passes to the waterpark are included.
New Year's Eve at the resort include a dance party at Camp Castaway, where children can create their own party hats and trail mix.
Santa will be in the lobby throughout the holidays. Coloring contests and holiday gift-making are available for guests.
