Cedar Point's Chaos not for sale

Despite rumors to the contrary, Cedar Point's Chaos is not for sale, according to Cedar Point Public Relations Manager Bryan Edwards.

International Rides Management (IRM), an amusement industry consulting company, recently listed five Chance Chaos park models for sale. The rumors began when IRM used a photo of Cedar Point's Chaos next to the listing on their web site.

Chaos debuted at Cedar Point in 1997 near the present day location of Top Thrill Dragster's hydraulic building. The ride model was rated as the "Best New Product for a Major Amusement Park Ride" when it was introduced at IAAPA's annual convention and trade show. Chaos was moved to its current location on the Wicked Twister Midway at the end of the 2002 season to accommodate the construction of Top Thrill Dragster. The ride was designed by Chance Rides, Inc., Wichita, Kan.

Chaos is slated to open with the park on May 12, 2007.
