Cedar Point Press Release

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream!

SANDUSKY, Ohio – Cedar Point is known for making people scream while riding its world-record-breaking collection of 17 roller coasters. But this Wednesday, July 25, guests will be screaming for ice cream at Cedar Point as Jerry Greenfield will be making a special public appearance at the park. Who is Jerry Greenfield you ask? Well, you may know him better as half of the world-famous Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream company.

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield met in the seventh grade in 1963. Fifteen years later, they opened their first Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice Cream Scoop Shop in a renovated gas station at the corner of St. Paul and College streets in downtown Burlington, Vt. Ben & Jerry’s currently have more than 430 franchised ice cream shops in the United States and more than 150 scoop shops internationally.

Jerry will be scooping ice cream for guests from 3-5 p.m. at the Ice Cream Parlor, located on the Main Midway, across from the Raptor roller coaster. Guests can get their picture taken or get autographs from the famous ice cream maker. Jerry will be at Cedar Point to help celebrate National Ice Cream Month and their new restaurant at the park – and nobody knows ice cream better than Ben & Jerry’s.

Nothing says summer more than ice cream and Cedar Point! Guests are invited to come out and taste any of the delicious ice cream flavors at Ben & Jerry’s, then take a wild ride on Cedar Point’s huge collection of 69 rides and roller coasters, including the new Maverick roller coaster.

Cedar Point is open daily through Labor Day, Sept. 3. The park will reopen for a Bonus Weekend, Sept. 7-9. Cedar Point will celebrate its 11th annual HalloWeekends on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 14 through Oct. 28.
