Ohio legislator wants school year to start later

State Sen. Randy Gardner wants Ohio to join Michigan, Texas, and nine other states, who have enacted laws limiting how early schools can begin holding classes.

The proposal, which some educators have dubbed the "Cedar Point Bill," is currently in the education committee waiting for more input from interested parties.
