Cedar Point honored at IAAPA

The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) announced on Monday the 2007 Brass Ring Awards winners during IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007. Cedar Point was recognized for its marketing and public relations efforts on Maverick, receiving "Distinguished Excellence" in the Media Kit and PR Campaign categories.

The Brass Ring Awards honor attractions for outstanding promotions work in ten categories. Members compete with similar destinations in five classes. Cedar Point competes in Class 4, which covers amusement and waterparks over two million in yearly attendance.

IAAPA is the largest international trade association for permanently situated amusement facilities and attractions and is dedicated to the preservation and prosperity of the amusement industry. The IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007 runs through Friday, Nov.16. The event features 500,000 net square feet of exhibit space, behind-the-scenes tours, marquee social events, networking opportunities, and educational sessions, including one led by PointBuzz Co-Publisher Jeff Putz titled, "Your Attraction in a Web 2.0 World."
