2008 Live Entertainment auditions, live interviews to be held at Cedar Point
Cedar Point is searching for entertainers and technicians during its 40th annual recruitment tour.

Cedar Point Press ReleaseSANDUSKY, Ohio, Jan. 24 -- Cedar Point, the amusement park voted the "Best Amusement Park in the World" for a record ten years in a row, is searching for talented entertainers and technicians during its 40th annual recruitment tour. Representatives from Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, will be holding open interviews and auditions to fill more than 100 jobs in the park's Live Entertainment Division for the 2008 season. Interested candidates can apply and audition on these upcoming sessions at the Cedar Point Live Entertainment Office:
- Friday, Feb. 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m
- Friday, March 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday, April 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
With thrilling rides, live entertainment, special attractions and resort accommodations, Cedar Point is one of the most popular amusement parks in the country. It is located on a Lake Erie peninsula, midway between Cleveland and Toledo. Cedar Point's Live Entertainment Division has received 18 BIG-E Awards, presented by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), for excellence in live entertainment.
Representatives from the Live Entertainment Division will be looking for:
- Performers -- singers, singer/dancers and singer/musicians
- Musicians -- electric/bass guitar, drum set, tenor saxophone, keyboardand fiddle
- Technicians -- stage managers, ushers, sound and light technicians, stage crew, costume shop personnel and dressers
- PEANUTS(TM) characters -- costumed characters and escorts
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by May 2008 to audition. Each audition piece must be limited to 16 bars. Applicants should select music that is upbeat and shows off their personality and ability to interact with audience members. A CD player and piano will be available, but other instruments and amplifiers will not be provided. Interested applicants should bring a one-page resume with references to the audition. Those who cannot audition in person can send audio and/or videotape along with a resume to: Cedar Point Live Entertainment, One Cedar Point Drive, Sandusky, OH, 44870-5259. Reporting dates run from late April to mid-June, with shows running continuously through late August or early September.
