As first reported on CP Place at Guide to the Point, a cable that attaches Top Thrill Dragster cars to each other and to the structure separated at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening. The ride remained closed the rest of the evening.

"It was more of a maintenance thing than anything else." Cedar Point spokeswoman Janice Witherow told the Sandusky Register.

Top Thrill Dragster may reopen today, if the maintenance crew is successful in installing a new cable that gives the ride its launch, Cedar Point spokesman Robin Innes told the Register.
