Since opening in 1988, Soak City, the 18-acre waterpark located adjacent to Cedar Point, has grown into one of the Midwest's finest outdoor waterparks offering a diverse collection of super-soaking attractions such a huge wave pool, water slides, inner tube rivers and special areas for young families.
Some of the "hot spots" at Soak City include Breakers Bay, a 500,000-gallon wave pool where water-lovers can splash in the three-foot waves or float on inner tubes. There is also the 76-foot-tall Zoom Flume raft slide that carries riders through a twisting course with high-banked curves.
Nearby is Splash Zone, a multi-story interactive play area that features dozens of water gadgets that spray or squirt and a giant bucket that dumps 1,000 gallons of water on guests below.
For young families, Tadpole Town and Choo-Choo Lagoon are big hits. These children's areas have pint-sized water slides and gadgets that are perfect for frolicking and splashing.
Soak City will be open daily Saturday, May 24 through Labor Day, Sept. 1. Operating hours will vary. Proper swimwear is required. Admission to Cedar Point is not required.
