On with the show at Cedar Point

For more than 40 years, college students have honed their theatrical skills by performing in shows at Cedar Point.

This year marked the Cedar Point's 40th annual Live Entertainment audition tour. Representatives from Cedar Point held auditions in six states, and participated in "job fair" auditions for park performers in the southern United States.

The live shows began in the late 1960s with the "hobo bands" performing throughout the park. The bands were the brainchild of Jack Aldridge, the former band director for Sandusky High School. In 1968 what is now the Palace Theatre was built. With it came live theatrical performances and the search for young talent.
