Cedar Point Press Release

SANDUSKY, Ohio – Nothing says the 4th of July more than spending time with your family and friends watching fireworks and enjoying a freshly cooked meal from the grill.  But that celebration usually involves a lot of planning, shopping, stress and time that really nobody has.  This year, Cedar Point wants to do all the work for your 4th of July celebration.

During Cedar Point’s All-American 4th of July Extravaganza, guests will be treated to an amazing fireworks display, mouth-watering dining options including grilled Johnsonville brats and an all-you-can-eat backyard barbeque buffet, patriotic performances by the 338th United States Army Reserve Band, special events commemorating the 45th anniversary of the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad and much more!

And if you needed yet another reason to venture out to America’s Roller Coast™ for the holiday weekend, park officials have announced a wide variety of special deals to help you save money on your visit!

On Friday night, July 4, Cedar Point will light up the sky with an amazing display of pyrotechnics set to patriotic music in the park.  The spectacular fireworks show will take place at 10 p.m. (weather permitting).  Shortly after the fireworks will be Cedar Point’s popular “Hot Summer Lights” show.  Cedar Point will be open until midnight on Friday, July 4.  (In case of inclement weather, the fireworks will take place on Saturday night, July 5.)

All-American Picnic Deal

Hungry guests looking to save money will love the All-American Picnic Deal, which includes a one-day admission ticket on July 4th and an all-you-can-eat picnic buffet all for only $44.95 plus tax!  The picnic buffet will include fried chicken, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, ice cream, cookies and assorted Pepsi beverages.  A Starlight meal deal is also available for only $29.95 plus tax!  That not only gives park-goers dinner and a (fireworks) show, but also includes seven hours of fun and excitement!  Special pricing for the meal deal is also available for Season Pass-holders.

Johnsonville Big Taste Grill

Back by popular demand will be the Johnsonville Big Taste Grill.  From Thursday through Sunday, July 3-6, the world’s largest touring grill will be at Cedar Point cooking up Johnsonville bratwursts.  Special meal deals will be available, including a bratwurst, chips and a Pepsi drink for only $4.69 plus tax!  The Big Taste Grill will be located near the Good Time Theatre – home of the new “Snoopy’s Big Bow Wow” ice show.  There will also be a special ticket available for admission to the park and the Johnsonville meal deal.  The meal deal combo is being sold exclusively online at www.cedarpoint.com/deals.

Johnsonville will help “Flavor Up” the weekend’s festivities with special giveaways, money-saving coupons and a chance to win one of 16 grill kits, which includes a Johnsonville-branded Tailgate Grill, apron, tongs, chef’s hat and brats for a year!  Each grill kit is valued at more than $150!  Cedar Point’s own “prize patrol” will be out all-weekend-long handing out the special prizes to park guests.

338th U.S. Army Reserve Band

Cedar Point will also honor the men and women of our military with special shows and a buy-one-get-one-free admission ticket!   On July 4, the 338th United States Army Reserve Band, a 90-piece marching band, will make several special performances at the park.  Portions of the band will perform an hour-long show at 1 p.m. in the Centennial Theatre, plus shorter shows on the main midway near the Sky Ride at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., culminating in a full-band performance from 6-8 p.m. on the WildCat midway.  Plus, members of the military will be able to purchase two regular adult admission tickets for the price of one ($42.95) all weekend long (July 3-6).  (A valid military I.D. must be shown to receive the discount at the park.  Tickets must be purchased at Cedar Point.  There is a limit of two buy-one-get-one tickets per military I.D.  Additional tickets may be purchased at the regular military discount.)

Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad

In 1963 a new ride debuted at Cedar Point that would forever change the landscape of the park.  That summer, park officials introduced the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad.  Since that first summer, more than 107 million guests have taken the 15-minute excursion to Frontiertown, Boneville and back to the Main Station.  To help celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad, there will be special displays, souvenirs and other interactive activities scheduled.
