Top NHRA drivers to visit Cedar Point

Tony Pedregon, Bob Tasca, Steve Johnson, Larry Dixon, and Antron Brown will meet race fans and sign autographs on Monday.

SANDUSKY, Ohio --- For most Cedar Point guests, a ride on the park’s 420-foot-tall Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster is as fast as they have ever gone.  On Monday, June 29, Cedar Point will have five special visitors who have gone much faster, and they do so on regular basis!  

From 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 29, five of the NHRA’s (National Hot Rod Association) top drivers will meet race fans and sign autographs near the Top Thrill Dragster at the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort.

Visiting Cedar Point on Monday will be:

Tony Pedregon: Second in NHRA career victories with 42.  He also has won two NHRA Nitro Funny Car World Championships (2007 & 2003);

Bob Tasca : Qualified in 22 of 24 events in his Funny Car debut in 2008;

Steve Johnson: Posted back-to-back wins in 2008 (Indianapolis and Charlotte) and also set career-bests for elapsed time and speed;

Larry Dixon: Won twice (Phoenix and Pomona 2) and was runner-up four times last year.

Antron Brown: Last year became the only driver in NHRA history to win races in Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle in the same year.  

All of the drivers will be competing in the NHRA Nationals this weekend at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk.
