Twitter has pledged to crack down on people impersonating celebrities by creating fake Twitter profiles but is moving slower to protect companies facing a similar problem.
Cedar Point recently faced that issue when a person outside the park held control of the Twitter account @cedarpoint. The company received an email from marketing consultant David Goebel who offered to hand over control of the @cedarpoint account in exchange for season passes. He also suggested that Cedar Fair hire his firm, Goebel Group Inc. to maintain the park's Twitter account.Questions about Cedar Point?
