SANDUSKY, Ohio, April 16, 2003 – Cedar Point amusement park/resort, home of the new Top Thrill Dragster – the tallest and fastest roller coaster ever to grace planet Earth – is giving Season Pass holders the opportunity to save time by picking up their photo ID card before the park opens for the 2003 season on Sunday, May 4.
The Season Pass Center at Cedar Point will open on Wednesday, April 23 and will operate daily through Saturday, May 3, and again on Monday, May 5 through Thursday, May 8. Hours for the center will be from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. (Note: The park will be closed to the general public on Saturday, May 3 for a private event and will also be closed May 5-8.) On Sunday, May 4, and daily beginning Friday, May 9, the Season Pass Center will be open during park operating hours.
Season Pass and Combo Season Pass certificates must be redeemed for a non-transferable photo ID card before being used for admission to Cedar Point and Soak City water park.
Season Parking Pass certificates can be redeemed at the main tollbooth for a non-transferable parking sticker that is attached directly to the vehicle. (Stickers will not be available in inclement weather.)
2002 Season and Combo Pass holders can simply mail their renewal form and 2003 certificates to the park to receive their pass in the mail. Renewal forms can be mailed to: Cedar Point Admissions, One Cedar Point Drive, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870-5259.
Season Passes, Combo Passes, Parking Passes and admission tickets will also be available for purchase at the Season Pass Center. Season Passes are $99; Combo Passes are $149; Junior Season Passes (for guests age 3 and older, under 48 inches tall in shoes at the time of redemption) are $50; Senior Season Passes (for guests age 60 and older) are $85; Junior Combo Passes are $75; Senior Combo Passes are $125 and Season Parking Passes are $60. Children age 2 and younger are free. For an additional $15, Season Pass holders can join the Joe Cool Club.
Joe Cool Club members will also be able to participate in an entire summer of special ride time on two of Cedar Point’s mammoth roller coasters – the 310-foot-tall Millennium Force and the 420-foot-tall Top Thrill Dragster. New this year for Joe Cool Club members will be two exclusive evening ride times on Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Mantis and Magnum. Club members can also purchase a parking pass that is on the Season Pass or Combo Pass photo ID and can be carried in a non-commercial vehicle. Other perks include early entrance for a great live show and special discounts on food and merchandise.
A Season Pass to Cedar Point is also honored for admission to its five sister parks: Valleyfair in Shakopee, Minn.; Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown, Pa.; Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Mo.; Michigan’s Adventure near Muskegon, Mich.; and Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif. (Halloween Haunt at Knott’s Berry Farm is a separate admission event. Cedar Point Season Passes are not valid for admission.) Cedar Point Combo Passes are also valid at Oceans of Fun water park in Kansas City; Knott’s Soak City USA in Buena Park, Calif.; Knott’s Soak City USA in Chula Vista, Calif.; and Knott’s Soak City USA in Palm Springs, Calif.
Just when you thought roller coasters couldn’t get any more exciting and thrilling, Cedar Point will stun thrill-seekers yet again in 2003 with the debut of the park’s unprecedented 16th, yes, 16th roller coaster – Top Thrill Dragster. Reaching a stratospheric 420 feet tall and topping out at an unheard of speed of 120 mph, this new steel screamer will help Cedar Point reclaim the title of owning the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the universe.
Cedar Point will open for the 2003 season on Sunday, May 4 and will be open daily Friday, May 9 through Labor Day, Sept. 1. The park will reopen for Bonus Weekends on Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 6, 7, 13, 14 and for HalloWeekends on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28, Oct. 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26.
