Cedar Point Live Entertainment nominated for 8 BIG E awards

Cedar Point has been nominated for 8 BIG E awards, the Sandusky Register reported. The awards, given annually by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, recognize excellence and innovation in live entertainment. Presentation of the awards will take place next week at IAAPA's Annual Convention.

The eight nominations are more than any other amusement park and are the most ever received by one park.

"We were up against every amusement park in the world," Marje Rody, Cedar Point's vice president of live entertainment, told the Register, including all of Six Flags' parks and Disney World.

Cedar Point's nominations are:

  • Best Sports Show: Splash!
  • Best Overall Production: Heart of Rock 'n' Roll, StarStruck!, America Rocks, The Witches of Witch Hollow
  • Best Female Performers: Erie Dorfler (Heart of Rock 'n' Roll), Rebecca Jo Lightfoot (Heart of Rock 'n' Roll)
  • Best Male Performer: Morris Crosby (Heart of Rock 'n' Roll)
