SANDUSKY, Ohio –- During the day, HalloWeekends at Cedar Point has friendly monsters who sing and dance along the midway.  But at night, hundreds of creepy characters roam the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park in search of prey.

In its 13th year, Cedar Point’s seven-weekend Halloween festival has evolved into an unmatched mix of fun and frights that includes rides and roller coasters, four haunted houses, five outdoor scare zones, live entertainment and themed children’s attractions.  For this haunting season, the park introduced two new haunted houses, three new live shows and the Overlord, the chieftain of all of the ghastly creatures who lurk in the dark recesses of the park.  

Besides the multitudes of rides and Halloween attractions offered during HalloWeekends, there are also a variety of ways to save money on a visit to the park.  These include savings on admission tickets, overnight accommodations and deals on meals that will be available until the park closes for the season on Sunday, Nov. 1.  A few of these money-saving offers include:

 -- Guests at the Castaway Bay indoor waterpark resort and the Sandcastle Suites all-suites hotel can purchase admission tickets to Cedar Point for only $25.

 -- Overnight stays at Castaway Bay and Sandcastle Suites start at $79 and $129 per night plus tax respectively (does not include waterpark passes).

 -- Starlight admission is only $29.99.  Starlight admission begins at 6 p.m. on Friday nights; 5 p.m. on Saturdays; and 4 p.m. on Sundays.

 -- A four pack of one-day admission tickets can be purchased online at cedarpoint.com for only $148.

 -- The Fright Feast, an all-you-can-eat buffet that includes fried chicken, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, cookies, ice cream and assorted Pepsi beverages, is only $10.95 plus tax.  (A meal/admission ticket combo is $49.99 plus tax).  The meal will be served Saturdays from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Coral Courtyard.

Other ways to save on a visit to HalloWeekends include discount coupons from participating Dunkin Donuts stores and specially marked Mountain Dew cans while non-winning Ohio Lottery tickets are worth a $7 discount on a one-day admission ticket.

HalloWeekends will be held on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays, through Sunday, Nov. 1.  The park will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight on Fridays (limited ride availability); noon to midnight on Saturdays; and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.  On Sundays, the outdoor scare zones will be closed.
