Castaway Bay hosts holiday celebration of fun

Scavenger hunt, Christmas tree lighting ceremonies and caroling are just a few of the special activities that will be held during the holiday season at Castaway Bay.

SANDUSKY, Ohio, – A scavenger hunt, Christmas tree lighting ceremonies and caroling are just a few of the special activities that will be held during the holiday season at Castaway Bay, Cedar Point’s year-round indoor waterpark resort.

For starters, money-saving packages for a festive family getaway are available.  Castaway Bay offers reduced rates on two-night stays while the Fun Times Family Package includes overnight accommodations, admission to the waterpark, family pizza meal and family photo with a PEANUTS character all for one low price.

To put everyone in the holiday spirit, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be held in the lobby Friday and Saturday nights, Dec. 18 & 19 and nightly Dec. 21-24.  Children can also participate in a holiday coloring contest and write a letter to Santa.  Other activities include caroling and decorating Christmas cookies and stockings.

For added excitement, Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy or Linus greet guests every morning in the lobby.  Everyone is also invited to join the PEANUTS characters for a bedtime story every night Dec. 18-24 (excluding Sunday, Dec. 20).  Plus, Santa stops at Castaway Bay, every day Friday through Wednesday, Dec. 18-23.

On Christmas Day, a scavenger hunt to find missing snowflakes will also be held.

The fun will continue next year as Castaway Bay will also host special events on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.  On New Year’s Eve, there will be a parade with Snoopy, a Kids’ Dance Party and a New Year’s Eve Balloon Drop while a PEANUTS Dance Party and a PEANUTS Movie and Bedtime Story will be held on New Year’s Day.

Despite the frigid temperatures outside, the indoor waterpark is a toasty 80 degrees every day and provides an assortment of activities.  Inside, the 38,000-square-foot waterpark features the 100,000-gallon Castaway Bay Wave Pool, the Lookout Lagoon Family Funhouse, the Rendezvous Run water coaster and Creature Cove, an 80,000-gallon activity pool with water basketball, a cargo net climb and serpents to climb on.  For young families, Toddler’s Tide Pool is the perfect place to splash and slide.

Other amenities include a huge arcade, located next to the waterpark, with games for every player.  There is also a fitness center and The Spa at Castaway Bay offers a variety of massages, facials, waxings, manicures and pedicures.
