Cedar Point Press Release

SANDUSKY, Ohio, – Smart shoppers can save big on a May visit to Cedar Point. The on-line Spring Fever ticket is now available through Friday, April 30 for only $29.99, a savings of $16 per ticket.

The single-day, Spring Fever tickets to the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort can be purchased online at cedarpoint.com. These special Spring Fever tickets can be used any day the park is open in May 2010 including Opening Day and Memorial Day Weekend (May 29-31), but they must be purchased in April.  Tickets for Juniors, age 3 and older, under 48 inches tall, and Seniors, age 62 and older, are $19.99.  Children, age 2 and under, are free.

Cedar Point will open for the season on Saturday, May 15 and will be open daily through Labor Day, Sept. 6.  The park will reopen weekends through Oct. 31, 2010.

New this summer will be Shoot the Rapids, a $10.5 million river-ride adventure located along the Frontier Trail.  It will be the park’s third water ride and will be the most expensive water ride ever built at Cedar Point.

Covering nearly 2.5 acres, Shoot the Rapids will feature two hills and two splash landings.  The first hill will be 85 feet tall and will be one of the tallest water ride hills in the world.  The second hill will stand nearly five stories tall and will lead to the ride’s grand finale, a 45-degree plunge that sends boats skimming through churning rapids.

With 75 rides, including 17 roller coasters, no place has more rides or more coasters than Cedar Point.  The park also offers an array of live shows and the Starlight Experience, a lighted walkway with more than 1 million LED lights that opened last summer.  For the little ones, the Planet Snoopy and Camp Snoopy are two of four ride areas that provide an abundance of entertainment that can be shared with Mom and Dad.

The Spring Fever ticket is valid only for May visits, but can be used with an upgrade to regular price for a visit to Cedar Point on any other 2010 operating date.
