Charlie Brown’s Look-Alike Celebrates with a Trip to Cedar Point

SANDUSKY, Ohio – Alyssa Montenegro and her family finally got to enjoy that long-awaited vacation to Cedar Point.  The Redlands, Calif., family won the trip by participating in the PEANUTS’ 60th Anniversary Photo Look-Alike Contest sponsored by Peanuts Worldwide.

The Montenegro’s visited the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort for four days, Saturday, July 31 through Tuesday, Aug. 3.



The winning photo was taken of Alyssa when she dressed up as Charlie Brown for Halloween in 2007.  At the time, Alyssa had lost her hair because she was undergoing treatment for leukemia.  Her cancer treatments ended in 2009.  After two and a half years, Alyssa, who will turn 6 years old later this month, is now cancer-free.

“Alyssa’s was extremely excited,” said Anna Montenegro, Alyssa’s mother.  “She couldn’t wait to see Snoopy!”

Alyssa and three of her family members enjoyed a four-night stay at the Breakers Hotel and four days of roller coaster rides and water slides at both Cedar Point and the Soak City waterpark.

Anna was looking online to purchase PEANUTS’ collectables and stumbled across an advertisement for PEANUTS’ 60th Anniversary Photo Look-Alike Contest.  She submitted the photo of Alyssa, never expecting to win. However, just like Alyssa triumphed over cancer, she also beat the other entrants in the photo contest.

Alyssa and her family celebrated both of these huge accomplishments when they enjoyed their prize vacation to Cedar Point, home to more rides and roller coasters than any other amusement park in the world!
