SANDUSKY, Ohio – During HalloWeekends at Cedar Point, screams of all kinds resonate from every corner of the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort.  Their cause may be one of the park’s thrilling roller coasters or a ghastly creature lurking in the dark.

In its 14th year, HalloWeekends provides an unmatched mix of rides and roller coasters, haunted houses, outdoor scare zones, live shows and themed children’s attractions. In 2009, HalloWeekends received the Frightmaster Award, the highest rating given by HauntedHouseTours.com, a popular Halloween web site.

Just as tempting as the fun and entertainment is the park’s wide variety of food offerings that include special meal deals and ticket combos all weekend long.

For the ultimate Halloween meal, the Boeckling Banquet is a spooky yet tasty fine-dining experience that is served by a creepy staff in G.A. Boeckling’s Eerie Estate.

This sumptuous Halloween meal is hosted in a private setting and offers four delicious entrees:  King Crab Legs; Lobster Tail & Petite Filet Mignon; Char Grilled Filet Mignon with Béarnaise Sauce; or Shrimp, Scallop and Lobster Pasta Alfredo.  Meals also include a Twice Baked Potato, Buttered Asparagus Spears, Salad, Rolls and Butter; and Surprise Dessert; plus assorted Pepsi beverages and a serving of wine or beer.  A cash bar is also available.

The meals are served at 5:30 p.m. on Friday nights and 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.  Reservations are required (419.627.2242).  Cost of the meal is $65 per person (includes tax and gratuity).  Park admission is required and not included in the price of the meal.

On Friday nights the park offers a HalloWeekends Friday Meal Combo for $34.99 (plus tax) that includes admission to the park and an all-you-can-eat pizza meal with salad, dessert and drinks.  It is served from 6-11 p.m. in the Midway Market on the Main Midway.  Tickets can be purchased online at cedarpoint.com or at the park.  Cedar Point Season Pass-holders and Platinum Pass-holders can purchase the meal for $8.99 (plus tax).

Another tasty treat for hungry guests, The Fright Feast, an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring fried chicken, hot dogs, bratwurst, rigatoni, potato salad, baked beans, cookies, ice cream and assorted Pepsi beverages, is only $10.95 plus tax.  (A meal/admission ticket combo is $49.99 plus tax).  The meal is served Saturdays and Sundays from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Coral Courtyard.

In addition to all the fun, frights and food, the Cedar Point Resorts have weekend packages that offer savings of more than $200. A two-night package includes admission to the park on Friday night and Saturday, free parking plus Early Entry, admission to the park one hour before it opens to the public.  These money-saving packages are available at the Hotel Breakers, Lighthouse Point, Breakers Express, the Camper Village RV campground and the Castaway Bay indoor waterpark resort.

The savings climb to more than $250 at Sandcastle Suites when a $50 gift card, good for food and merchandise, is added to the deal.

HalloWeekends will be held on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays, through Sunday, Oct. 31.  The park will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight on Fridays (limited ride availability); noon to midnight on Saturdays; and noon to 9 p.m. on Sundays.
