Cedar Point Press Release

SANDUSKY, Ohio, Oct. 26 -- There is only one weekend left to enjoy the best roller coasters and the fun and frights of HalloWeekends at Cedar Point.

Cedar Point will close for the season on Sunday.

Recently, the Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort was given the Frightmaster Award for having the best Halloween attractions by HauntedHouseTour.com, a popular Halloween web site for more than 16 years.  It was the second consecutive year HalloWeekends has received the award.

Among the favorites of the judges were three of the park's four haunted houses and the Fright Zone, one of five outdoor scary attractions featured during HalloWeekends.

On Sunday, Oct. 31, the last day of the season, HalloWeekends will offer Scary Sunday Savings and the opportunity to save $10 on a visit to the park on Sunday.  At cedarpoint.com, guests can purchase tickets for Oct. 31 for only $35.99.  (Tickets must be purchased in advance online.)

During HalloWeekends, the park combines its vast assortment of rides and roller coasters with dozens of Halloween attractions that range from scary outdoor mazes and haunted houses to live entertainment and children's attractions that include the Monster Midway Invasion Celebration parade (4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday afternoon), the Magical House on Boo Hill and the Hay Bale Maze.

Guests interested in frights can find their fill all weekend long.  All of the nine haunted attractions are ready to scare each night.  Plus, the park's rides and roller coasters will be in operation from open to close.  (On Friday night, there will be a reduced ride offering.)

On Friday, Cedar Point will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight (limited ride availability); noon to midnight on Saturday; and noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Cedar Point will open for the summer of 2011 on Saturday, May 14.
