Many amusement parks -- including facilities owned by Disney, Universal and Six Flags -- give guests the option of avoiding long lines, either by distributing come-back-later passes or allowing visitors to pay a fee to access shorter lines.
This month, Kings Island, Cedar Point's sister property near Cincinnati, unveiled a system called "Fast Lane," which gives visitors the option of paying an extra $50 (on top of the $52.99 daily admission) to queue up in a separate (much shorter) line at 10 popular attractions between noon and 7 p.m. Among them are the Beast, Diamondback and Windseeker.
