Cedar Point Press Release

SANDUSKY, OHIO (Feb. 4, 2013) – Cedar Point is looking for enthusiastic people of all ages to serve guests as the park makes history with the opening of its new wing world-record-breaking roller coaster, GateKeeper! The park is recruiting at least 5,000 seasonal employees who want to play where they work and give each guest a memorable experience this summer.

“Our staff often give guests their first impressions of the park, and those are lasting impressions that can really impact their entire day,” human resources manager Pamela Romo said. “That’s why it’s crucial for us to hire people with the right attitude. If they have a great work ethic and a dynamic personality, they will make sure our guests have their best day of the summer here at Cedar Point, which is our ultimate goal.”

More than 70 types of jobs are available, including positions in food service, games and merchandise, hotels, maintenance, park operations and safety/security. In 2012, Cedar Point received approximately 22,000 applications from 49 of the 50 states and dozens of countries.

In addition to gaining resume-enhancing experience, Cedar Point's employees enjoy a variety of perks, including unlimited access to the destination named "Best Amusement Park in the World" for 15 years running, a beautiful beach and Soak City waterpark. This year the park is implementing a variety of employee-centered initiatives as it strives to become an employer of choice. That means providing more flexible scheduling, developmental training for first-time workers, rewards for returning employees and other incentives for outstanding efforts. Employees who live in Cedar Point's dormitories and apartments will also see significant improvements this year, including major Wi-Fi upgrades and new basketball and volleyball courts. All employees have the opportunity to participate in intramural sports and bus trips to popular travel destinations while they build a solid foundation for any career. They can even earn college credit and work their way into management positions.
