SANDUSKY, Ohio (Aug. 22, 2013) – Looking to help lower your golf score while raising money for a charity? If so, we have the perfect event for you. Cedar Point® and the Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross are joining forces this fall for the 22nd annual American Red Cross Golf Challenge on Friday, Sept. 13.

This fun-filled tournament will take place at Cedar Point’s Challenge Park and will be a four-person, 36-hole scramble. Registration will begin at 4 p.m. with a shotgun start at 4:30 p.m. Registration is only $40 if placed before Aug. 30, a savings of $5 off the regular $45 entry fee. Teams of four can enter the challenge or individuals can enter and will be placed on a team. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. Deadline for registration is Monday, Sept. 9.

But the prizes don’t end there! A raffle will be held for the chance to win a Cedar Point getaway package, valued at $800! The winner will receive an overnight stay in a Hotel Breakers Horizon Suite, which includes a Jacuzzi and panoramic views of Lake Erie, along with four one-day admission tickets to Cedar Point. Six raffle tickets can be purchased for only $10! Two special hole-in-one contests will also be held.

Businesses and individuals looking for a way to contribute to the fundraiser can do so by sponsoring one or more of the holes at the event. For a $50 sponsorship fee per hole, the name of the business or individual will be featured on a special sign placed at the tee of their sponsored holes. Businesses who sign up to sponsor a hole by Aug. 30 will receive a $5 discount.

Since it began, the American Red Cross Golf Challenge has raised more than $137,000 for the Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross. All proceeds benefit the chapter’s disaster assistance program, which provides temporary housing, clothing, food and supplies to families in crisis in Erie and Huron counties.

This fundraiser takes place on the first night of Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends®. Each participant in the golf challenge will receive a free admission ticket to HalloWeekends that night and discounted admission for their guests!
