Cedar Point Press Release

SANDUSKY, Ohio, Sept. 10, 2013 -- Heading back to class will be more terrifying than ever this Friday the 13th as Cedar Point opens the doors to the new Zombie High School haunted house for the 17th season of HalloWeekends. Every corner has been overrun by the walking undead students who lurk in the halls and locker rooms, waiting for unsuspecting visitors.

For seven weekends in September and October, America's Roller Coast is transformed for those who like their scares from mild to wild! Family-friendly fun includes the new Howl-O-Palooza children's area, featuring costume contests, the PEANUTS(TM) pals, a magical fun house and the friendly monsters. Also new for families is Trick-or-Treat with the Dinosaurs. Walk the trick-or-treat trail on Adventure Island and see more than 50 life-sized dinosaurs that chomp, roar and get into the Halloween spirit. Plus, kids get treats as they stop and visit with their new prehistoric friends. A nominal fee is required.

Want some serious scares? Try to make it through four indoor haunted houses, like G.A. Boeckling's Eerie Estate - a mansion infested with residents and servants who want to keep you around for an eternity! Or, wander through six outdoor haunted trails like CornStalkers - where surprises are hiding behind every stalk and every ear of corn. That's all in addition to Cedar Point's amazing collection of 72 rides, including the new record-breaking wing roller coaster, GateKeeper.

This weekend only, guests who dare to do the Zombie Crawl by venturing into all four of Cedar Point's indoor attractions will have a chance to win one of 13 prize packs featuring an assortment of frightful and funny Halloween movies. Guests may pick up a Zombie Crawl card at Guest Services, located at the far right side of Cedar Point's main gate.

HalloWeekends is open from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday nights, 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturdays and noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays through Oct. 27. Special hours on Sunday, Oct. 13 are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
