SANDUSKY, Ohio (June 3, 2014) – Keep your arms down, head back and hold on as Cedar Pointprepares to launch coaster enthusiasts into a whirlwind of non-stop excitement! This weekend the park will feature two events for thrill-seekers of all ages: CoasterMania! and Coasting For Kids.

Cedar Point gives coaster enthusiasts 17 reasons to scream during CoasterMania! From dawn to dusk on Friday, June 6, adrenaline-junkies from around the globe will come together to ride some of the park’s world-renowned roller coasters, including Millennium Force – the “Best Steel Roller Coaster in the World;” Magnum XL-200 – the world’s first hyper coaster; and Blue Streak – celebrating 50 years of thrills this summer. Other activities include exclusive ride time where participants have park favorites such as Raptor, GateKeeper and Maverick all to themselves, a catered lunch, giveaways and other special surprises.

But the fun does not stop there. On Sunday, June 8, coaster warriors turn their passion for riding into a fund-raising effort for the 6th annual Coasting For Kids event. Participants will ride the Gemini and Magnum XL-200 roller coasters all day long to help raise money for Give Kids The World, a non-profit organization that treats children with life-threatening illnesses and their families to a cost-free, fantasy vacation. Over the last six years, Coasting For Kids has raised over $350,000 for Give Kids The World.
