Cedar Point continues to celebrate "summer of fun"

New events include fireworks every Friday and Saturday night.

SANDUSKY, Ohio (July 16, 2014) – When looking to have your best day of the summer, one doesn’t need to look any further than Cedar Point. The popular vacation destination was recently named one of the top amusement parks in the United States by TripAdvisor® in their annual Traveler’s Choice awards. These prestigious awards honor travel spots around the world that earn top reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor reviewers. In addition, Cedar Point’s Soak City waterpark was also ranked as one of the ten best waterparks in the country.

Cedar Point continues to celebrate the “summer of fun” with the addition of two new nighttime events, extended park hours and fireworks displays that are sure to thrill!

Friday and Saturday nights just got more exciting at Cedar Point with the addition of the park’s Beach Blast event. At Beach Blast, the beautiful Cedar Point Beach comes to life after dark with a wide variety of activities, including games, live music, food and more. The highlight of this family-friendly event is a spectacular fireworks display that takes place at 11 p.m. each night. Also on Friday and Saturday nights, Platinum Passholders can take advantage of a great new money-saving offer: dollars dogs at the Coral Courtyard along with a free bag of chips and a Coca-Cola beverage.

Beach Blast runs from 9 p.m. to midnight every Friday and Saturday through August 16.

When the sun goes down, prehistoric family fun lands on Adventure Island with the addition of Dinos After Dark – an after-dark tour of the park’s popular Dinosaurs Alive attraction. Dinos After Dark guests each receive a flashlight to light their path as they encounter more than 50 life-size animatronic dinosaurs that move and roar! Trained Dinosaurs Alive guides are located throughout the attraction to answer any questions from inquiring guests. In addition, participants receive a special sweet treat at the end of their journey. Dinos After Dark is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 p.m. to midnight through August 16. Tickets for Dinos After Dark are only $5 per person, or $3 for Season and Platinum Passholders.

Thrill-seekers will also delight in the fact that Cedar Point is now open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays through Aug. 16 for even more “airtime” on the park’s record-breaking collection of 72 rides and roller coasters.
