Dan Haverlock, "airtime205" on CP Place, reached his goal today of 744 Magnum rides for the 1999 season, and 1,000 rides for his season pass career. I was fortunate enough to get 42 rides in what turned out to be the most extreme day of riding ever. To make the day even more historic, Magnum ran only one train, a scenario which, to the best of everyone's knowledge, had not occurred in at least five years. Add to that the most enormous head wind you've ever felt off of Lake Erie, and you have the formula for several near-rollbacks. On several occasions, the train struggled to crest the second hill. By all accounts, we couldn't believe they were running the ride.
