Cedar Point in the Book of Records

Cedar Point issued a press release Friday announcing its inclusion in The 1999 Guinness Book of Records. The park is mentioned three times: "Theme Park With The Greatest Number of Roller Coasters" is first, citing 12 (now 13), "Theme Park With Greatest Number of Rides," citing 56 (now 67), and "Tallest Freefall Ride," citing Power Tower. Supreme Scream at Knott's is actually taller, measuring 325 feet (99.1m) tall, the length of travel measuring 254 feet (77.4m). Power Tower is 300 feet (91.4m) tall with the length of travel measuring 240 feet (73.2m). Power Tower is however the only ride of its type that has four towers.

Note to Paramount's Kings Island... See, even Guinness considers CP's Gemini racing coaster as one. PKI has been guilty of counting its racing coaster as two, despite the accepted protocol of enthusiasts and the general public, who consider it one coaster.
