Cedar Point Press Release
SANDUSKY, Ohio (Nov. 11, 2014) – While Cedar Point has closed its gates for the 2014 season, the fun at The Roller Coaster Capital of the World!® hasn’t stopped. On Sunday, Dec. 14, the midways of Cedar Point will once again be filled with guests of all ages as the park hosts the 3rd annual Santa Hustle Half-Marathon and 5K. New this year, both the 5K and the half-marathon races will begin in the park’s main parking lot and will wind their way around the towering rides and roller coasters of Cedar Point. To help get runners in the spirit, holiday music, cookies and candy will be featured throughout the courses. All participants will receive a Santa hat, beard and a newly-designed dri-fit Santa Hustle sweatshirt to wear and keep.
The 5K and half-marathon will officially be timed using the disposable B-Tag timing system. The top three male and female finishers in each age group will receive a customized Santa Hustle medal while all half-marathon finishers will receive a special finisher’s medal. The 13.1-mile half-marathon begins at 9 a.m. and is followed by a 3.1-mile run/walk at 9:30 a.m. Participants and spectators can also spread holiday cheer by donating unopened toys to the Toys for Tots boxes at the race.
