300-foot B&M proposal rumored to be on the table

Guide to The Point has learned that the rumored coaster for 2000 is at the very least a solid proposal in the form of a Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) 300-foot hypercoaster. The queue and loading area might be in Frontier Town in the Waveswinger and Carousel Pavilion area. The path of the circuit is unknown, but given the proximity of other attractions, a path directly through Frontier Town or toward the lagoon is likely.

As of now, no permits have been filed with the City of Sandusky. If Cedar Fair follows through on this project, reportedly at a cost of $20 million, construction could start as early as fall 1999.

Sources say that B&M is one of several candidates being considered. Others say that a deal has already been inked with a manufacturer.
